PNY 32GB Attaché 4 USB 2.0 Flash Drive 5-Pack

I used to play in bar bands. I don't anymore but I still have musician friends and we all write songs, or partial songs. When I get an idea for a song I usually throw down an acoustic guitar track and a bass track and if it has it the lyrics on another track. Then it goes onto the flash drive to get passed onto another musician who then adds what he thinks sounds good and he may add his thoughts about the song, verbally at the end. after that it may go to a third, then fourth musician for the same treatment. Eventually it gets back to me and I can evaluate how it's going. This is a great way to work on songs with musicians that have to work real jobs and don't have the time to get together day after day to practice. It works for us and these top brand, low cost 32 gig flash drives are perfect for us.

The ones I've used so far have worked quite well. A must in today's world.

These are good little USB sticks. I did have an issue that they worked in only half of my computers and not in my car. They come formatted with FAT32 which should have worked in all the devices I have. Oddly, if I reformatted them (as FAT32) they call worked fine. Otherwise, they are great: not so small they get lost but big enough to put a small label on.

Works great for Windows and Linux installs and backup recovery. It’s about average size for a drive but can be slid to become smaller. Speed is slow but that’s what makes it reliable.

Just started using these and 3 of them fail to be recognized no matter which USB port they were tried in. PNY used to be a great product but with half of them failing makes you wonder.

There were five, as ordered and they are speedy enough for my needs, big too. However curiosity led me to test one for as manufactured capacity. (Advertised as 32 Gb.) So using f3/Linux/f3write/f3read I set one up for a muiti-hour test. Results: it was not one of those factory reject chips with much less than advertised capacity. You can write and read more than 28 Gb, though I stopped early and did not test for the last drop of capacity. However test speed dropped off dramatically above 28 Gb, and it appeared that the operating system reported one set of data via df, and another set of data via f3write. Hmmmm. That chip/chip controller treated memory above 28Gb differently? Hmmmm! Later: Another day, a second unit tested. This unit also announced to the OS that it had only 28Gb, so I did not test it fully. A smaller pair of partitions suited my needs and tested out without a problem. Possibly the manufacturer had a weak batch of controller/memory chips and decided to sell them cheaply. My main complaint is having to remember to test them to verify them for suitability for purpose. Each drive is worth a days pay to me when populated, so I am careful.

I needed to flash a Bios in an older laptop. I have plenty of USB 3 drives that I would use when I needed but the old laptop only has USB 2 ports. When flashing a bios with a drive the flash drive needs to be formatted in Fat 16 or Fat 32. Larger flash drives, over 32 gb, get formatted in ex-Fat format. The system in the older laptop cannot read that format. I needed a true USB 2 flash drive large enough for the bios but not over 32 gb. These flash drives from PNY did the trick. An added note. When formatting these drives, doing a quick format in Fat32 is good enough to get the bios updated on a laptop. There is no need to do a complete Fat32 format that would take half an hour or longer to format a 32bg flash drive. PNY is a good brand and they have very good quality products. I cannot think of any other purpose that I would specifically need USB 2.0 flash drives but if you need to update a bios on an older laptop you might want to buy some of these to keep in the tool drawer, just in case.

Got these for a great price on Primeday. Looks good and feels decently built. Only real con is the sliding mechanism; it's way too stiff (just like the PNY 128GB USB drive I have)

I ordered a pack of 5 PNY 32GB thumb drives for general purpose. Transfer rate is not fast but good for general purpose.

They seem to work fine, good price.

FR en-dessous : Writing speed is very low. It's between 0 and 5 MB/s max (Windows 10). Will try on Linux. That explains the low price. I don't recommend that product. EN above: Vitesse d'écriture très basse. Entre 0 et 5 MB/s (sur Windows 10). Je vais essayer sur Linux. Ces faibles performances expliquent le prix bas. Je ne recommande pas.

Well it arrived ok, formatted all and tested right away. Hope it will last long and won't corrupt easily. That is what customer's would like to buy. I'm happy with my purchase.
