Mackays Fig Preserve, 12 Oz

If you're from the South, or just love Southern style fig preserves, these are The Ones!!! Even though they are made in Scotland, they taste just like the Southern preserves I grew up with...the ones my mother and grandmother used to make. That means they are a darker colored preserves, and have nice chewy, sweet fig pieces all throughout. They aren't giant chunks (like pear preserves, etc.), but the size is just right for me, and they are delicious. Not sickly sweet, but just the right proportion of sugar to fruit, in my opinion. I bought 2 jars, and I will definitely be buying more! Try it on a piece of cinnamon raisin toast! Yum yum yum!!!

Showing two jars in product description is very misleading. Want buy any more till its changed. Fix it amazon.preserves are good.

Both of my grandmothershad fig trees in their yards, so I grew up eating a lot of homemade fig preserves Mackay's fig preserves are pretty similar in appearance and consistency to my grandmothers' preserves, with fairly large pieces of fig while still being spreadable. However, while my grandmothers' preserves tasted entirely of figs (if a bit sweeter), Mackey's preserves are noticeably tart due to the added lemon juice. Figs have a fairly subtle flavor, so it doesn't take a lot of lemon to completely change the flavor. Mackay's fig preserves are still definitely fig preserves rather than .... lemon jam or something, but have a distinctly different and more tart flavor profile than I want from fig preserves. I often pair fig preserves with cheese when cooking or preparing quick appetizers, and the slight lemony tartness of Mackay's fig preserves just doesn't work very well for that, though it's fine to spread on a slice of toast in the mornings.

I didn't want this to sell out...I opened the jar ate some on my toast and said, I don't want to give out...So, ordered another jar the day after receiving the first...my Mom canned figs for years...tons of them...flavor good, but the texture was not good...this is perfect in taste and texture...

日本人が思い浮かべるジャムとは少し違っています。 いちじくの量は多いのですが、ゼリーのようでかなり甘いのですが、食べるといちじくの味が最後に残ります。 好き嫌いが出そうで、そして割と高いので買って後悔する人もいるかもしれません。
