Great Sound!
This little speaker, the Denon Home 150, has great sound overall. I do use the EQ to fine tune the sound. The placement setting is useful as well. I compared it to the current Amazon Echo Studio. The Studio had decent bass but the midrange was terrible. Returned it. Then I compared it to the WiiM Sound. The Denon sounded better, more refined. Wiim software is great though. Returned the WiiM. Tested against the new Bluesound Pulse Flex. The Flex was quite good, but the Denon was still better sounding. Returned the Bluesound. The Denon also sounds better than the Sonos equivalents and also the Denon is compatible with higher-resolution audio. The next thing ( in a few months) will be to compare it to the new Denon Home 200 and keep that one if it is better sounding. The HEOS software has its issues. Although recent software and firmware updates have improved its usability. I think I had to install the speaker using 2.5G Wifi and then once everything was set up, switch to 5G Wifi. I do have a Denon receiver in my main listening system, so I can play source music from the main system and stream through the HEOS setup and listen on the Home 150 in another room upstairs. The one downside for me was that it is not compatible with AIFF files. The workaround is file transcoding to WAV. My music server transcodes to WAV and the Bubble UPnP app works with the setting on the server. I use the UAPP (USB Audio Player Pro) app to stream FLAC, WAV or DSD from my server or phone. I only use the HEOS app when I want to stream from Amazon HD or in the scenario described above.

Multi-room music for a much better value than Sonos
We listen to a lot of music. The problem is our record player, TV, and the rest of our home theater was in the main living room but we spend a lot of time in the kitchen as well. Our Echo Dot was no longer cutting it, and you really couldn't sync music between rooms. Denon boasted that their HEOS system would work flawlessly across devices so we decided to try out the Home 150. I can honestly say, I'm blown away with the quality, sound, and ease of use. Since we already had our AVR setup on WiFi, and already had the HEOS app, all we had to do was have our phones locate the speaker and sync with the system. The main feature that I didn't think would work well, was putting on a record in one room, and being able to listen to it in multiple rooms at the same time. This speaker does just that with barely any noticeable syncing issues or lag. The built in Alexa also made the update from the Echo seamless as we use Alexa's features quite often. Normally I'm someone too that has to sit and tinker with a speaker or setup to get it to sound right and honestly, no adjustments needed as long as you follow the instructions during first time use. I highly reccomend this to anyone that is already in the Denon ecosystem and doesn't want to pay the inflated prices for Sonos.

A solid HEOS speaker, but pricey
I have a HEOS receiver and the concept of placing these speakers around the house versus wiring the house is a great option. We have two and I'd like to get a third. They're easy to set up, sleek looking, come in black or white, and sound decent for their size. Cons: Overpriced. If you're going to get 3 of them to place around the house, you're spending $500 all in to do so. I feel like these should be $100 each or at least be sold in 2, 3, 4 speaker sets that average $100/speaker. I also hate that it has no battery backup for moving it around. It uses AC power only, so if you have one that you want to roam with, say from inside to outside, you have to unplug it, plug it back in elsewhere and let it boot up and connect to wi-fi all over again., It seems like it would be easy for these to have a small rechargeable battery that at least provides 10 minutes of backup power for continuous operation so you could move it without losing connection.

Quality at a price
After two years of use, I feel compelled to write a review of this speaker. For background, I have several rooms in my house with Apple HomePod minis and a regular HomePod. The reason for the review is every time I use this speaker in my workout room, I'm astonished at how amazing the sound is coming from this little gem. The price made me pause, for sure. I got it because it had AirPlay compatibility but also because I had a Denon home stereo and was thinking it would integrate easily with that system. As far as AirPlay compatibility, it's been rock solid, even better than the Apple HomePod and I think the sound is more rich. The bass is velvety smooth for such a small speaker. I bought a cheap mounting bracket https://a.co/d/ikB6Yhs to keep it out of the way. It is more than adequate to fill a 12x12 room.

Bricked— worthless GHOSTED by customer service. You are throwing money away if you buy this
Bricked— worthless GHOSTED by customer service. You are throwing money away if you buy this Denon speaker. What a shame and a sham. For a couple months this things worked great. I was thinking I’ll have to replace the other Amazon speaker too… Nope. One day it just quit working. All the lights went out. It was situated well ventilated, untouched and just died. Okay, that can happen, but it is not possible to get ahold of anyone at Denon. I get an infinite loop of no response. This is an expensive product from what I thought was a premium company. I feel ripped off. I feel like soon I’m going to make it my full time job to get those weasels to replace this no matter what. In the meantime, I have no speaker in the living room. Pisses me off every day. Save yourself a headache and buy something else. Check my other reviews, I’m not a big complainer. I’m usually only moved to write a positive review to help a good product.

Works well when connected to ethernet cables
I bought three of these speakers and installed them in different rooms because they can connect to Ethernet cables. I have an Imac and can play each of my Itune playlists via the Ethernet cables. The speakers were easy to install for someone, like myself, who is not very up to date with the latest technical innovations. The sound coming from these small speakers is excellent. However, music afictionados cannot expect the sound of a $200 speaker to match that of one costing $500 or more. The bass was too prevalent for my taste. However, i was able to adjust the sound a little by tweaking the treble and the bass via the equalizer (EQ) function on my Iphone Denon app. Another plus is that the sound level of each speaker can be set up at a different level for each room.

ONLY PLAYS MUSIC. Good sound, otherwise a disappointment.
*Updated after a month of use* First and most importantly, this ONLY plays music/podcasts from your PHONE (or audio playback device). Denon admits this cannot be used for any TV sound or surround sound unless it is paired only with their Denon sound bar. Nope, not even if your receiver is a Denon. I can play music/podcasts from my phone to my receiver and the Home 150 at the same time using HEOS, but you cannot broadcast from your receiver to this speaker thru wifi, bluetooth, or HEOS. I bought this initially to bring my TV audio into my kitchen while I'm cooking...which you can't do. So, music and cooking it is...I guess. If you are between Sonos and a Denon whole-home wireless system, go Sonos unless you enjoy solving finicky puzzles or confusing your wife. The problem above and the HEOS app issues are inexcusable. Sorry, Denon. HOWEVER... I do recommend this if you want a nice small size speaker for the kitchen, enclosed porch, or for BBQs as a standalone unit. The sound is surprisingly good for its size and clear at loud volumes. Has great bass, but can be a little too low for listening to voice (podcasts, audiobooks). If bass heavy tunes are your thing, winner. You can adjust the equalizer, but the former statement holds true regardless. Finicky connection issues on bluetooth, but better/faster using WiFi. The Heos app needs to be updated or replaced - it's not intuitive, doesn't always work the first time, and if you have multiple wireless and wired connections, good luck. I'm re-configuring and trying new apps to avoid HEOS as much as possible. If you are using wired connections on your receiver and use this thru WiFi there is a slight delay in the sound, so if you're playing both of them at the same time you better make sure they're far enough apart so you can't hear the echo - it's frustratingly disorienting. Also, setup was fairly easy but the user guide is complete garbage. I'm still not 100% sure how to use or program the Quick Select buttons.

Great Sound Quality but a little clunky
First, I don't think they're worth the $249 list price, but the price for new units often drops anywhere from $169 to $189 on Amazon which are the two prices I bought my 4 units for. Setup is easy, although each time I immediately had to run a firmware update which takes quite a long time and always failed the first time which was a little annoying. After that, they worked great and I really do think the sound quality for the size is very good. I love the multi-device sharing feature which is easy to do (and un-do). We often have 2 or 3 of our 4 speakers linked together so you have seamless music as you walk from one room to another. There is also the ability to link 2 units as a, "stereo pair", which I've done but I'm not sure if I like them better that way, or not paired. My only gripe is that is that some features are only accessible via the HEOS app and not through the specific music app you're using. For instance, I can launch music on the speakers directly from Spotify (w/o opening the HEOS app) and it plays in the combination of rooms I have previously combined, but if I try to stream music from my Apple Music app, it doesn't recognize the room combinations, unless I first open the HEOS app and launch it that way. Navigating through the HEOS app is also a bit unintuitive but eventually you figure out how to get to everything. Overall, we are very happy with the Home 150 Speakers

Denon, una marca extraordinaria
No podía tomar mejor decisión. Satisfecho 100%, altamente recomendable.

Great multi room system!
I liked the speaker so much, I bought another one to make a stereo pair. We use it with our Apple TV and with AirPlay and the Heos app. The fact that it has an Aux input was important, the USB input is a bonus. Very versatile! The shipping is unbelievably SLOW! With the first one I thought it was just the holiday season slowing it down. The second one was no quicker. One star taken away due to snail like shipping! It is otherwise a 5 star product. UPDATE: We have purchased a subwoofer to go with to the speaker’s and it REALLY improved the sound. We were happy with the stereo pairing but it lacked some low end bass. The subwoofer changed everything and the two speakers sound much bigger now. We have since added another Denon Home 150 as well as a Denon Home 250 for other rooms in the house. The Denon Home 250 sounds fantastic on its own and really suits a medium sized room. It has made for a great whole home system and doesn’t have some of the drawbacks that it’s competitors have ie: Most Sonos speakers don’t support: Bluetooth, USB or Line In and charge a subscription to use streaming services through the Sonos app. Shipping is much faster now too!

Good sound quality when paired
Just received my second Denon home 150 speaker and paired it with the old one. I spent some time thinking between the option with two 150’s vs single 250 or 350 and decided to order the smaller speakers. They work very well in pair and sound phenomenal for this form factor and price. The bass is deep and speaker body resonates well. The good quality music source on selected platforms will make these speakers even better. Overall I am happy with my purchase except the price paid for the second unit. It seems that Denon decided to push the 250 and 350 models and no special discount on the 150 version.

Genial
