Great tasting household favorite at a great price
Like others have said I'm no coffee coinsure but I appreciate a truly good cup of coffee and I feel that this brews into a great cup. I was actually a little surprised how much the three of us in my household enjoy this coffee. I'm not sure why, but I had expected this coffee to be closer to Folgers than something found on a shelf of coffees with a higher price tag. To be honest I bought this coffee because of the reviews here, and the price. But what really inspired me was seeing a TV show that highlighted the coffee from this region. I looked this coffee up on the internet and what I found was that it's well respected, but still felt the show was probably exaggerating a little. Eventually I decided on the two pound bag of the whole bean and placed in an airtight container thinking I would use it when as a fill in when one of our favorites ran low or use it as a change up. But my wife took the container out looked at the coffee, smelled it and decided to give it a try right off, and it's become one of the few coffees we keep on hand. So the three of us really enjoy this coffee, we've used three different brewing methods and in our opinion it works great in each. The first time my wife brewed this, she used the a Chemex 6 cup Slow drip method, and it has a wonderful rich clean taste without any hint of bitterness. In fact it seems to produce more of a slightly sweet taste, rather than anything approaching bitterness. We've also used a French Press and it works very well in the French press, but my personal favorite method is done with the AeroPress. When brewing this coffee with the AeroPress I keep pretty close to the instructions that come with the device. I do use a little more coffee than the instructions suggest, finding that the two slightly rounded scoops and about a half of another make a fantastic cup of coffee. Another reason I prefer using the AeroPress with this coffee is that it's dark enough to make a decent espresso. It's not going to be like using one of the truly dark roast coffees, but the flavor is very rich and enjoyable. in my opinion many medium roast coffees just do not lend themselves as well to this type of deeper extraction, not able to go beyond certain limitations. Over all this has become a favorite in our home, with a rich unique taste that is versatile enough to do well no matter which brewing method you might prefer. Finally yes I would recommend this to friends and family

You have got to try this if you love coffee
Is there a smoother coffee that is low acid with slight notes of chocolate and citrus? If there is, I want to know about it. I have tried a lot. Missions trip in Oaxaca Mexico back with locals that had 4 - 6 poles and thatched roofs. The people were some of the kindest we have ever met. Smelling coffee, I asked for some. Was invited in as a woman was roasting beans. Was offered some roasted the day before. This is as close as I have come to that day. Silky smooth, no acid, bursting with coffee flavor, slight chocolate hint with nutty floral fruity notes. Though I do like Expresso now and then this is Truly the best coffee I have found thus far. I ground my own beans, but don't let that get in the way if you don't have a grinder. Even a magic bullet will do well, or order it ground. Next harvest I'm going to order green beans from Oaxaca. If someone has found a tastier bean with this profile I would like to know about it.

Delicious, but not amazing
These beans are rich in flavor, enjoyable with well-crafted aromas and flavors are present. Although it isn't the "best," it is definitely good. It offers excellent quality and value for the money. The roast is exactly what it says it is: medium.

See details, there are reviews for multiple coffees (Tarrazu, Organic Mexican)
I REALLY wish Amazon would separate these into their actual individual products, as it's unreasonable to review different coffees with entirely different profiles and roasts on the same review, but here we go. ============================== Edit - 6/25 - this portion of the review is for the Costa Rican Tarrazu, and I'd rate it... maybe 4 stars. I'm back and forth on it, but overall it's good, don't let the oiliness and roast smell out of the bag fool you. Recently a colleague from South America shipped me some local brand Tarrazu coffee from Costa Rica and I enjoyed it, it's a pretty nutty and floral experience. I figured I'd try Fresh Roasted's attempt. It didn't wow me at first and has a slight acrid scent right out of the bag, and is darker than I expected, but upon brewing it actually turned out better than anticipated. Flavor-wise, it's bright and a bit nutty. There's none of the floral while it's brewing, but it off gasses well and there's a hint of floral in the mug. Nutty and light is how I'd describe it. It's definitely a non-complex flavor profile, and singly nutty overall, but that's not a terrible thing. It's nice, and pleasant, even if it doesn't have the "wow" factor I get from the Brazil or Ethiopian roasts. I will say this one is very good with pour over. Still single note but the flavor profile really comes out well. I've done French Press and immersion brew with my Clever dripper on this and this one is actually pretty great with a finer grind via pour over. It's entirely possible some of the subtlety of the bean is lost with a french press brew. Half the enjoyment of coffee is finding out though. :) ============================== Edit, 5/18/2023 - bought the Organic Mexican coffee again to be sure the last bag wasn’t a fluke. It wasn’t. It’s just okay. I’d describe it as inoffensive. Better than most coffee of the grocery shelf but not by much. This is better than the likes of Dunkin’ Donuts or 8 o’clock, but a store brand like Gevalia is better. The Organic Mexican is at best a 3 out of 5. It's inoffensive, mildly better than store bought coffee, but there's better out there in this brand for the same price or less. Get the Brazil Minas Gerais, Tarrazu or one of the Ethiopian roasts instead. You won’t regret it. ============================== This original review is for the Organic Mexican, medium roast. Decent enough coffee for the price, but I'm not particularly impressed. I've really enjoyed the medium and light roast Ethiopian Yrgacheffe and Sidamo Guji, but this one's not as good in my opinion. Bag indicates flavor notes of cashew, pear, and brown sugar. You can taste the nutty hints, but the rest of the flavors are muted on the brew. There's pretty much no fruity notes at all, and I'd call this roast slightly on the bitter side, not getting the brown sugar. The ethiopian roasts were also light on the fruity notes, they were a bit muted compared to other roasters I've tasted, but at least it was there, and they're rather tasty when fresh. This one is just okay. It's certainly drinkable, and still better than most store bought coffee, but there's better out there for the price, and much better if you're willing to spend a bit more.
