Embossing is the process of creating raised and textured designs in materials such as paper and cardstock. Debossing is the same idea, though instead of raising the material, it pushes the material downwards, to create a ‘sunken’ effect. Our 3-D Embossing Folders do both to create that 3-D effect! How do I use a 3-D Embossing Folder? It’s easy! Grab your Big Machine and 1 Cutting Pad to get started. Firstly, for best results when using cardstock, spray fine water mist onto material before placing inside the folder, this will help to create an even deeper impression! Place the folder on top of your platform and complete the sandwich with your cutting pad placed on the top. With one roll through your die cutting machine, your 3-D design will be revealed! Note: An Adapter Platform will be required when using embossing folders with any of our Sizzix Big machines. Simply place this under the sandwich you’ve created and you’re ready to go! If you've already purchased one of our Big machines, your adapter is included!
