Well made crossbow string a must have in your arsenal!
I bought this as a replacement string for my Cobra 80lb draw pistol. This new crosbow 80lb replacement string is a good quality replacement for the cheep strings that come with most crossbow pistols. The factory string that came with the bow is scary looking with broken fibers sticking out all over it before use. I keep the factory string well waxed however its only a matter of time before it snaps. I will be ordering a few more of these strings for backup in my arsenal as eventually they will snap if shoot much. Eventually even a well waxed bow string will wear out. Kudos for a well made product at a great price!

Strong string but needs better protection for durability
It holds up the pull and firing of a 80 pound bow very well. Shape of caps received different from picture but work the same. Some people wrap the central portion of the string with masking tape to improve durability. It works but the tape has to be replaced too often. I wrapped it with a very thin piece of leather (taken from a worn out belt) with glue for vinyle and leather from a 99 cents store to about 5mm in diameter. It will last for a long time. Wrapping it with a piece of cloth that has been stiffened first with the same glue before wrapping works pretty much the same. Putting new string on used to be exhausting work until I found that it can be done easily with the help of a piece of string from a You tube video.

It is what it appears to be: a medium quality x-bow string.
So, I have this little crossbow. It was kind of an impulse buy. Saw it at a yard sale for practically nothing, so there it is. I don't really know a lot about these things. Shot it a couple times, didn't use any string wax. Apparently, if you don't wax your bowstrings they tend to break. I found that out the hard way. Whoops. So I ordered two of these. Just to have a spare. They came. No issues. The strings look exactly the same as the one I had before. The end caps are smaller than the ones that came with the bow. No idea whether that makes a difference, but I had to use a hammer to get them on, and it took two tries to get them actually straight. Definitely a snug fit. The string doesn't come pre-waxed. You'll need to wax it. I see other reviews where people claim they broke or unraveled. That's probably why. Wax your strings, people. It's important. Stringing this bow without help was a real challenge. I can string a longbow with my eyes closed, but this doesn't work the same. At all. Found a trick though. Took the seat off a stool to get to the metal frame, put the arms of the bow so each side hits against the frame and push down (hard) with one hand while stringing it with the other. Now I've only shot a few test shots. Can't be completely certain until I've really worn it out, but so far the string works perfectly. No complaints. I've checked it for any flaws or premature wear and I can't see any. It seems fine.

Use bow string wax
I bought this spare string because I read the reviews stating that the string that came with the cobra 80lb crossbow frayed easily. I also ordered Bow string wax. I have the shot the crossbow a few hundred times and have not had a problem with the original string. I just wax the string and the rail before every time I use it. I have not had to use the spare string yet but I'm sure it will last at least as long as the original if maintained properly.

BACK UP
BACK UP JUST LIKE THE ONE THAT CAME WITH BOW, KEEP IT GREASED WILL LAST A LONG TIME. WILL WEAR OUT FAST, WITHOUT LUB ON IT, HAVE 2 PISTOL CROSSBOWS AND A BIG ONE FOR HUNTING. LUB WHERE IT MAKES CONTACT WITH THE FRAME.
