is any part of this product waterproof.?

The coil and cable are WATERPROOF. You can completely submerge the coil in water with no worries. I have done plenty of creek hunting with this machine. It works great too.

Will this detector find gold nuggets?

Accepted Answer

Yes! The problem is exact pin pointing the location of very small metals. This is why they offer a nugget detection foot the area is small than the stock and it is easier to determine location by covering a smaller area. Stock covers the ring size and some out side area of ring; so if your foot print is 12" across you have 13' to 14" square area to locate what might be a pin head size nugget. If you use a nugget head the area is much smaller the head may be 4" across meaning you may be searching 5" to 6" square for that pin head size nugget. How to use this detector, and I went to the field and the detector always give a sound with nothing come out and not pick one thing.

Make sure your battery is good. Would suggest replacing battery. Make sure connection is good. You should be able to get a beep or something out of it with a good battery.

I really like my bounty hunter metal detector. I have found 1 quart of coins so far. Only one coin was old. As for depth range I think perhaps a foot deep unless there is a very large piece of metal. It will discriminate, but not too well with large metal. I found a quarter one day about 6 inches deep and filled the hole back up. As always I went over the hole again just in case I missed one. It beeped again so I dug the loose dirt back out but nothing was there. It showed that there was a dime but to my suprise the dime was in the grass on top of the ground about 4 feet away. That is what I call sensitive.
