If you like underwater cities, this is a no brainer. It has deluxe player boards that are dual layer which means the pieces don’t move around on the board. There are more cards for each era and more 1-2 credit special cards and 3 credit special cards. They have an option museum which is fun because it gives you more options on the board to get bonuses and points deepi g on the random card, metro, and tile placement. It has both the original player boards (upgraded), and 2 new sets of expansion boards (one with and one without the museum). Underwater Cities is one of our favorite games and investing in this expansion is the way to go if you like the base game.

As much as I love Underwater Cities, I love the expansion even more. It’s worth the price just for the dual layered player boards! No more having the pieces sliding around if you bump the table! The new cards add a lot to the game. And the new assistants make a huge difference. I also love the new play modes. Searching around to uncover artifacts to fill a museum adds a really interesting twist to the game. Basically, if you have Underwater Cities, you’re only playing half a game if you don’t have New Discoveries mixed in!

For board gamers and families alike. It's alot like Terraforming Mars. There are a good many fiddly pieces, so the new boards are nice. There are many ways to win. It was huge hit at our game group. Also nice for a Saturday morning game with significant other. May also be played solo.
