Worth buying
Sharp. Durable. Worth the price. If you’ve been used to el cheapo kitchen shears for years like me you’ll feel a distinct sense of satisfaction every time you use these. Highly recommend.

Great Shears, especially for the price.
These shears are like professional grade, but without the professional price. The blades remain flush to eachother through the cutting range. The blades are sharp. With cheaper shears, I sometimes have to torgue my thumb agasint the ball of my hand to keep the blades flush; otherwise, very thin material gets pushed between the blades instead of being cut. With these shears, I don't have to do the torguing thing. The blades (two sides) come apart easily when moved to the right position, but do on come apart otherwise; so, cleaning and sharpending are easy.

A real "cut-up"
I have had many shears/scissors through years. As time passes they get loose and become dull. Cutting thin material becomes difficult to impossible. A friend has a pair of these shears and has used them for a few years and said they are as sharp as the day they arrived. The fact that they come apart makes them easier to clean. So based on their recommendation and the positive reviews, ai purchased them and I am equally impressed. They will cut through the thinnest material at the very tip. Highly recommended.

Not what I expected
Notable misses. Not made in Japan (China for my pair). Can barely get three fingers into the handle. (Old pair - different brand x had room to spare for all 4. Loop for thumb. Need this to open shears as there is no spring as many kitchen shears do. Loop for thumb - causes an u comfortable grip between thumb and fingers. Comes in the worst possible carded packaging which needs to be destroyed - not returnable - after opening and discovering they don’t fit your hand. Disappointed as I have several other pairs from Kai and they were all Japan, comfortable in my hand, and great quality. Time will tell on these but I will probably just replace shortly as they are just too uncomfortable to use. Except the reorder I just did, that one comes from Vietnam now.

Sturdiest Scissors I’ve ever Owned
The title of the review says it all. These are the most solid, sturdiest, most powerful-feeling scissors I’ve ever owned. It’s actually a magic thing opening and closing them. Besides that, they’re incredibly sharp. No problem cutting through anything — from hard plastic to a chicken you’re spatchcocking. What’s more, they’re super easy to clean. If they get dirty, you can detach the two halves really easily and throw them in the dishwasher. Pull them out and slap them back together and they’re good as new. I’ve owned a couple pairs lf cheaper shears in the past that drove me crazy because I’d get them dirty and they’d stay dirty forever because the halves didn’t separate and it was a struggle to clean in the cracks between them. Not a problem here.

Well designed but they just don't cut well
I recognize these are not scissors, they're kitchen shears, but they just don't cut well. I'm a big fan of Shun, Kai, and Kershaw, but these disappoint. They have lots of features and look just like the Shun shears but even after sharpening they just don't cut anything well. Paper? Plastic? Flowers? Asparagus? Everything folds rather than cuts. Plenty of better options out there.

Excellent scissors
Great scissors, my step dad got me into Kai/Kershaw/ZT years ago. I've always had amazing luck with them, great quality with amazing support.

Extremely sharp and perfect for cutting chicken – very practical design
Extremely sharp and perfect for cutting chicken – very practical designI bought these specifically for cutting chicken, and they’ve been excellent. They are extremely sharp and cut through meat, skin, and even small bones with ease, which makes prep much quicker compared to using a knife. They feel very sturdy and well-made, and one of the best features is that the blades separate easily for proper cleaning — especially important when dealing with raw meat. They are very sharp, so you do need to be careful when handling and washing them. They’re also a bit more premium than basic kitchen scissors, but the quality reflects that. These are especially useful if you regularly prepare meat, as they make the process much easier and cleaner. Overall, really impressed — sharp, durable, and very practical.

Sharp and strong scissors but poor blade design makes them worse than regular scissors
As other reviews tell you these are sharp and strong scissors but they placed the herb function (gap) poorly. If you cut with the full length of the scissor blade it will be a difficult and uneven cut as the herb function (gap) makes the cut not straight. The solution is to only make a cut with 2/3 of the blade length (where you see the serrated blades, something I find annoying. If this would be a problem for you get the Kai Select 100 instead. They are also very heavy scissors, so if you are a small person and will use them a lot please factor this in as well.
