Pipe Organ at first, then a great way to pair with some fuzz or reverb
When I first plugged the XVI in, I swore it was just a pipe organ sound and that was all I was going to get. Started dialing in more and found it was more fun than that. For my guitar, this has been a great way to add some bass to the room and loop. Turn up the sub and down upper, pull back on the mod and you have some fullness. Flip it and you have some great harmony to riff over some rhythm. I'm far from a technical or skilled player so having an octaver to help me mix up my sound has been great for my creativity. I will have to Try through my bass and see what I can come up with. This is Joyo pedal #5 and #2 of their R series. The design/lights are super fun and I personally enjoy just jamming in the dark and finding new sounds. Solid build and the dials are smooth.

Nice!
As good as Pedals costing twice as much, really a bargain, A couple of tips to get that The Black Keys, Jack White, Annie Clark sound. place the Octave Effect Pedal in front of a Fuzz pedal, use the neck pickup and slightly drop your guitar volume, really solid sound!, only small gripe is polyphonic tracking is not as accurate as I would like, and I would like to see better looking knobs, but you will need to spend 3 times as much for a better Octave Pedal, this is worth every penny, plus the LED lighting effect is pretty cool.

KILLER PEDAL!
If you want that weird octave combo with your favorite fuzz or heavy distortion, this thing does it well and cheap. The tracking is extremely impressive, it had me droning out the DOOM in no time. HIGHLY recommended!

Lasted 5 days
Used it straight for 5 days and now it doesn’t work. Really was excited to have the pedal and was liking the tones but i just can’t chance another one crapping out on me so I returned the product. Hope my Joyo Uzi pedal doesn’t go down now :/

Great Pedal for any shredder!!!
I own a whammy, and although the whammy is great in it's own right's, the joyo xvi might be better. It work's better, in that it's crispy clean, and doesn't breakup like a bit fracture in the note. The signal hit's the tone perfect, with no delay. Sound's like a double neck guitar, being played at the same time. Harmonic's sound spot on the dime. I love it!

Joyo XVI - a fun and reasonably priced octave pedal
Who needs an octaver? Well, there was this guitar player named Jimi Hendrix. From bass simulation to 12-string guitars to thick layered sounds, octavers can make your sound bigger and expansive! If you’re in the market for a reasonably priced high quality pitch-shifting pedal that can layer or shift your tone with low and high polyphonic octaves a la the POG, the interestingly named Joyo XVI (or 16 which probably stands for 16 octaves), is right on the money. The XVI tracks the notes you play (even chords) and it can generate low and high octave duplicates. As an extra, it also comes with an adjustable tremolo modulation effect for more tonal sculpting options. And the best part? It is super affordable for what you get! Let’s take a look at what you get for under $90! BUILD QUALITY Similar to the other Joyo pedals in the Revolution (R) Series, the XVI’s has a tough metal shell and it should hold up against daily abuse. The XVI is a solid and well-built pedal and it’s perfect for the road musician. And like other Joyo R-Series pedal, the XVI also has a ultra cool LED ambience light. The footswitch is likewise similar to other R-Series pedals - it’s a firm and sturdy metal clicker that is satisfying to engage. The plastic knobs - perfectly usable but since you’ll be interacting with the knobs the most, I wish they were made from thicker material. Additionally, make sure you have a 9V (at least 150mA) power adapter since this pedal doesn’t come with one nor does it take a 9V battery. SOUND As an octaver, the XVI does it job. The low octave is thick and beefy and the high octave is shimmery and synth- like. It’s a polyphonic octaver so it can even track multi-note chords The extra modulation feature adds a tremolo in lower levels and a chorus-like warble when you turn up the rate. From thickening up your metal and rock riffs to doubling your lead lines with soaring notes, the XVI is definitely loads of fun. The XVI’s note tracking is also good, although similar to other octavers, I do notice some issues with complex chords. With its true bypass, it also a great addition to the other reverb pedals I already have in my board since it doesn’t affect my original tone that much when disengaged. CONTROLS The XVI has four main knobs: Sub - The volume level of the low octave. Upper - The volume level of the high octave. Dry - The volume of your dry signal Mod - The rate of the tremolo modulation effect VERDICT The Joyo XVI is a fun and reasonably priced polyphonic octaver. If you want to explore the tonal possibilities of layering a low and high octave to your sound, then the XVI is worth your attention!

Does the Job
I was a little disappointed with the sound quality on the upper octave, but it’s super easy to use and worth the price.

Awesome! Buy it yesterday
This is a great pedal. Octave up and down both track well. The mid effect can give you some cool options. Easy to get Deep Purple organ/guitar sound out of it. The octave up tracks good for mimicking 2 guitars. My son plays bass in a regularly gigging band and he uses it as well. Tracks bass just as well as it does guitar. In fact he says it tracks as well as his Boss-OC-2

I love this pedal. I have never owned an octave pedal before, and this is great fun. The high and low options are accurate and clean. And, the notes track well through chords and bends. There’s a good versatility here, so you can use it to accent solos for richness (single notes), or to fill out chord voicing. If you want to play fuller chords, you can tone down the effect or feed through clean signal, so it isn’t overbearing. That’s the beauty of this pedal. You can use it as a subtle fill or dial it up for weird stuff. Play around with some of the settings, and you could be laying soundtracks for weird-ass science fiction movies. The LED lights are a nice feature. I think they look cool, but that’s going to vary, according to your taste. I highly recommend this pedal.

Great, as most of the pedals in this series seem to be. Solid build, versatile controls, not that I use the mod much. Works well with bass for the most part which isn't always the case. It's much cheaper than the pedal(s) that inspired it and I can't really complain at all.

This thing kicks ass! Didnt expect much for the price but its right up there with the more expensive Octave pedals i have played. Super cool!
