Works great!
Bought it for the chicken water bucket and it works great

Zero leaks, this is the only float valve I trust.
I use a LOT of these for level control in hydroponic systems and they're extremely reliable. We've tried a lot of other styles of float valves and these are the only ones I trust. Zero leaks on any of the ones I've installed.

Broken hearted
They are great over all but it was two short for what I needed and I tried to make them work and over reengineered. Mostly happy though

Chicken water buckets
I use these in 5 gallon buckets for my chickens They work forever. I’ve been using them for about 8 years and never had to replace one. Great value

Does not fill fast. Does not grip hose in any position. Price is right.
This is perfect for my application. I use it as a stay full valve for watering plants. When the water drains through a pin hole on the garbage can, the valve keeps the garbage can full. When I pump hydroponic solution out of the garbage for my ebb and flow system, the float falls and replaces any water that was lost from plants evaporation but the valve does not pass much water quickly which is fine for me because the plants do not evaporate much water quickly. I need a 90° angle for my garden hoes attachment. There is no provision on this valve to dial in the 90° to point down to accept the hose. I had to add another hose end gasket so it would seal in the position I needed. If you need higher flow, this product is not for you.

Excellent float design
Float screws into assembly. I've had some that were molded on and they can get leaks where it attaches and let water in and then it can fill the float and make it not work. These have a totally sealed float so no transitions for weak leak points. They are good quality for the price. Just can't let them freeze with water turned on or can bust it.

Works!
My husband put these in my horses troughs this spring. They are all functional and wonderful to have. We even used a few in 5 gallon pails which saved money as we no longer need new large troughs. My husband was pleased with how easy they were to put together.
