Just what I wanted

It was more compact tham i expected with a high quality hole saw sharp enough to cut through metal. I used it to cut through my license plate and install it flush making it undetectable. The instructions were great too. It also comes with a small mount if you dont want to make a cut. The cords were just long enough to run on my Silverado crew cab, but barely. I will add an extension to the RCA jack. It should be long enough for most vehicles. I will be ordering another one for a front camera soon. I see many reviews that complain about the instructions amd wonder why. There was a link sent with mine that explained everything you need to know specifically about the wires that reverse the camera, and for the guidelines. It is not going to tell you how to wire your stereo for example, this should be included with the instrictions for the head unit itself. I did not use the small red wires as my Pioneer unit was hooked up to my truck with the appropriate wire harness and were not needed. The camera is not the best with night time picture, but is adequate for me. For reverse camera operation, you should cut the white wire to reverse the camera orientation which is explained with the instructions. The seller emailed me and posted a link to a blog which i had no need in using, but may be helpful to some. This camera it's small enough that i considered using the hold saw and installing on my tail gait release handle, and may end up changing it to get a slightly more vertical view.

It's a decent quality camera and it does the job. If you do get this camera I would recommend that you do not install it using the flush mount method. The reason being if you were to ever decide you don't want the camera or want a different camera there's going to a big hole wherever you put this one. Using the mounting bracket is a much wiser choice even though it might not be the prettiest. I have mine attached to a plastic piece underneath my bumper and it works quite well. The only problem is that the the screws it comes with are way too tiny to even use so you'll need your own (#4 works quite well). The main downside to the mounting bracket is that even with the cap screwed on all the way, the camera is still a little loose and can rotate inside the mount, but that can be fixed with makeshift spacer or a piece of tape. The mount also comes with a sticky pad so you don't have to use screws but I wouldn't trust it. The installation wasn't too bad, but there was a bit of guesswork involved since it doesn't come with ANY instructions. It comes with 2 cables, one is the yellow video cable that goes up to your stereo or display and the other is for power and ground. The red wire on the power cable should be spliced into the positive of your reverse light cable and the black wire should spliced into the negative cable for your reverse light or grounded somewhere on the body of the car. Your stereo's reverse trigger should also be spliced into the positive reverse light cable. Easiest way to do that is to follow the wire up into your dash and splice into it there rather than running another cable all the way back to the reverse light. You'll notice that there is also a red wire attached to both sides the video cable which I would recommend not using at all. The only reason it is there is to power up the camera from the positive wire behind your stereo. The problem with doing it this way is that the camera will have constant power and might burn itself out. Make sure you plan everything out before you start installing to save yourself hours of head scratching. If you do that you'll be happy with your new backup camera.

I'll start by saying that I am AMAZED at the interaction with the company as much as I am with the product. The product is well built and is top notch quality. Not just a flimsy plastic camera. I had a little issue when I first plugged it in to my receiver but I worked that out and everything has been working fantastic. The camera gives a good picture on my Pioneer AVH-2600BT. The backup guide lines are a nice feature and gives additional situational awareness. The wiring itself was fairly easy but a novice may have a hard time with the simple diagram that is included with the box. (Disclaimer: I'm an electrical technician by trade) No worries though, there are many articles and videos around the web that will provide plenty of guidance. Also, upon receiving the product, I also received an email on the same day. I repsonded to the email to let them know I had an issue with the camera not working but I would troubleshoot first before saying it was a bad camera and they immediately responded letting me know they'd be happy to help in any way. After some troubleshooting, I found it was a simple error, corrected it, let them know and they sent a kind reply back. So their great straight forward product coupled with superb customer relations earns five stars from me.

This camera is ok for the price - but be warned - it does not do well with light shining at it. As a matter of fact - it's nearly useless in bright sunlight and completely useless at night due to license plate lights. Photo shows what it looks like in the dark - blinded by my licenses plate lights. Any light shining towards the camera blinds it. Unfortunately, I had this flush mounted by a car instal place. If I hadn't had a hole cut in my car I would remove it and return it, but I'm stuck with it. Further more - flush mounting is a bad idea with this camera. I had to shut the guides off because objects 10+ feet away fall into the red area. I used my decks guides which I was able to adjust somewhat - but with it flush mount you cannot see your own bumper so it's impossible to tell how far a car behind you is. It looks like you're inches from another cars bumper when really it's feet away. In ideal conditions, if you don't take the poor distance judgement into mind - the picture looks good. So it's basically useful for making sure there's no people walking behind me in early morning or late evening. To use it for backing up close to other cars or in the day or night - it's useless

Was easy to install, came with everything needed to install except for some t-taps, which I didn't expect it to come with anyways. It has 2 mounting options, a stand mount that you screw or adhesive attach, or hole mount where you drill a hole and insert it into that. I was surprised to see that it included the appropriately sized hole saw bit. Day picture was about as I expected ...standard def semi-fish eye. However, the night vision was much, much better than I anticipated. Amazing value for the money. I have not yet had any moisture issues, through several rainy days and a car wash. Includes: *Camera *Optional mount *Long video RCA cable w/ coupled power cable *Hole saw bit for flush mounting in bumper I think the only thing that would have been a nice improvement, is if the top/bottom of the camera was marked relative to the distance guide so I would have had a better idea of orientation when installing. That would cut down and in/out trips of the car while installing to check orientation.

First off there are no instructions included. I didn't think that would be a problem because I didn't expect it to be a hard job. It mostly wasn't, but the lack of instructions creates a problem with the two colored wire loops. Virtually all cameras have these loops, but without knowing what is what your just shooting in the dark. I found a review that said to cut the green wire to remove the guide lines, so I did that first thing. Guide lines were still there, so I cut the white wire. That messed up my mirroring of the picture and guide lines were still showing up. I had to solder and heat shrink the two wires back together. It works now, but I hate introducing a failure point just because there were no instructions. Here's the way the wires worked for me (be cautious... I assume this could change any time with a no name camera like this): Solid green wire: No guide lines Cut green wire: Visible guide lines Solid white wire: Rear mounted camera Cut white wire: Front mounted camera The next problem was that the camera wasn’t marked in any way to show which way was the top. Since I was doing this myself, I had to keep walking back and forth between the radio and the back of the car to keep rotating it until it was just right. The drill bit/hole saw is awful. It worked, but only because I was drilling into a plastic bumper. If you have to drill into metal, I imagine you will need a better bit. One of my bigger gripes is that there is some "noise" in the picture when the car is running. I assume the video cable they included isn't shielded (one other reviewer noted that). The noise is fairly minor, but it annoys me. I may buy a better cable at some point to see if that fixes it, but I don't want to go to the work of rerouting the cable for now. For the good, the picture seems pretty good. It's not as good as a brand new car might have, but plenty good for my use. Seems to be good enough at night as well. I'm not sure that the angle is 170 degrees like they claim, but it is still wide enough for me. I didn't use the included brackets, so I can't comment on those. They seem like they'd be fine though. Overall I'm satisfied, but it could be a 4 or even 5 star with a couple things buttoned up. Only had it installed for a few days (10/2025) but I will update if the durability isn't up to snuff

Great product. Used it to add a back up camera to my JK navigation system screen. Just bought this, a male to male adapter and the harness for the nav. I had a small issue with the image being reversed. I emailed the manufacturer, got an instant reply, and it fixed the issue right away. Need to cut one of the attached wire loops. The reason for this is so it can be used as a forward facing camera instead, if you do not cut the wire. Even the drill bit was of decent quality. You can also choose wether to have the back up lines in view or not. Again, just cut one of the wire loops and your done. Good picture day and night time. The cable was plenty long enough to run from the camera, up through my roll bar and to the nav with still a little to spare. Very happy with this camera. Whole camera system cost less than $45. You will need the dealer to flash the nav to let it see the camera. I did this along with a recall Chrysler had sent out so it was just a 10 minute "add-on" job. Recommended
