Works on steel pistol lock box
Used to replace a lock on a steel pistol lock box for my vehicle. I had lost the keys for my Snapsafe and this is almost* a perfect fit to OEM. The width where the threads are were just a touch wider on this one. Tried hammering/jamming the new lock in but didn’t work. Damaged the first 2 threads but still worked as advertised after some minor work with a rotary tool (a small file would also work) to enlarge the pass through on the safe. I had only seen reviews for toolbox/bed box uses. This lock cylinder feels higher quality from what it replaced as well. Hopefully this helps someone in the same pickle I was in.

Good replacement
Works great on my old pickup toolbox. Lost the original keys and couldn't lock the toolbox for a long time. These installed easily and I have no complaints.

This lock was perfect in my truck bed toolbox. The throw length was perfect and super easy to install. Replace that rusty lock in just a few minutes

It was bigger than 5/8".
Replacement for a machinist tool chest. It was supposed to be 5/8" but was slightly larger than that. Not sure if it was a metric thing. Had do a little file work to get it to fit.
