La Crosse Technology LTV-Pool-INT Wireless Digital Pool Thermometer

Battery powered pool thermometer connects to your WiFi and allows you to view pool temp from your phone via the La Crosse View App or from the digital display on top of the thermometer. Works as advertised, was easy to set up, and love the convenience. I was also able to set up notifications for when my pool temp increases to my minimum swimming temperature of 80F so I know pool season has begun, and when the temp decreases below 80F so I know not to take the polar plunge.

This is my third La Crosse Tech LTV-Pool-INT Wireless Digital Pool Thermometer. This third one was purchased May 15, 2022 and has failed today September 4, 2022. Installed new batteries and the display is garbage. It has various odd readings on the screen along with moisture under the display. This unit, as with the other two, connected to the app quickly, reads pool temp accurately and is great to see the surface water temp at will, but that's where the good stops. The first unit I purchased 4 years ago, lasted two seasons (2 years) before failing. The second unit lasted just over one year, now this most recent unit lasted only 3 months. I have two La Crosse weather stations and they work great, but I'm done with La Crosse products, these submersable temp transmitting units do not last.

My wife thought this was an unnecessary toy at first, but quickly realized that being able to view the pool temp from inside is actually pretty cool. Being able to see the pool temp on our La Crosse weather station in the morning helps us decide whether to fire up the heater without actually going outside to check the temp. As others have mentioned, the display gets cloudy with condensation making it hard to read. The moisture does not seem to affect the performance of the sensor.

Very good working thermometer. We have had it in our above ground pool for 2 seasons now. The only thing that you must realize is that it reads the temperature at the very top surface of the water. So if the pump isn’t running or people aren’t swimming in it to move water around, it’s definitely not the temperature you think it is when jumping in ! Top surface of the water is usually much warmer. The batteries last the whole season, which is about 4 4 1/2 months here. The display on top of the unit is descent however hard to read on a sunny day. I mostly use the app to see what the temperature is, which really is convenient. We tie it off to a porch post to keep it from becoming a pool toy, ha! Highly recommend, especially for the fair price!

I love this! I can look at my phone using the La Crosse View app and check our pool temperature in real time. I even set notifications to alert me when the temperature goes above or below the temperatures I choose. The only downside is not from the product itself - it's from a young Golden Retriever who wants to retrieve it!

The first one of these I got worked great for two years. Occasional condensation inside the screen, but it always cleared eventually. In its third season, it started returning obviously incorrect temperatures - 20 or 30 degrees F higher than actual. I ordered a replacement, which paired immediately with the indoor display, and worked great for 6 weeks. The LCD got condensation again, but this time the display quit working. Still sent good values to the indoor display, but only for another week before it quit completely, despite fresh batteries. For now I've switched to the BALDR Solar Powered Digital Pool Thermometer - cheaper and no batteries, but also no wireless transmission to an indoor display.

Works great and gives an accurate reading. My mom bought the same one to check her blood pressure.

I have purchased 2 of the units and have had good experience with Lacrosse view products but this is a bad product. I purchased the first one on Amazon for my Florida pool. At first I was impressed with the unit and its connection to the Lacrosse app. Display was excellent and right on accuracy. After several months moisture started to appear under the glass display and finally the display itself failed apparently from moisture leaking in. Since it was under warranty I contacted Lacrosse and was treated extremely well when I explained the problem. I was told they were out of production and a new model would be forth coming and would be sent to me when back in production. Several months passed and I had pretty much assumed I was out of luck who I was surprised by the delivery of a new unit which appeared the exact same as the first. Two weeks ago, the same thing happened again starting with the under glass moisture and finally today a complete failure. New batteries had no effect. DIW- Dead in the water.
