So far so good!
I've decided to give the TechWare Pro Knee Brace size XXL a five-star review only because I don't have any other brace to compare this one to. I have been having pain and weakness in my knee off and on for the better part of four years. I have tried countless OTC creams and medicines. Icy Hot with Lidocaine pain relieving cream combined with 4 Ibuprofen would last the longest, about two-three hours, before my knees would stiffen up again. I even purchased KT Tape. This product was somewhat helpful, but not quite good enough. I had been wanting to purchase a brace to see if it would help. But, it's almost impossible to find one in my size. I tried using "Ace Bandages" to wrap my knee. But, as soon as I would start to walk, the bandage would roll down no matter how I wrapped it my knee. Or, I would wrap too tight and the pain from the pressure would be worse than my knee pain. Fast forward to about two weeks ago when I found this product. I measured my lower thigh and knee. And, found the the XXL would be the right fit...I hoped. The first day I wore this brace, it was tight! But, it held my knee in a more stable position. I actually was able to get out of the car (putting all my weight on my bad knee) with a lot less effort than the day before! As I walked, I could feel the brace holding my knee in place, which was what it should be doing on its own instead of arching outward. After three or four days of wearing the knee brace (6:00am-6:00pm) I felt like I could get up from a seated position a bit faster with less pain! Not totally pain free, just better than before. And, it began to occur to me that my excruciating ankle pain wasn't actually killing me. I just hurt a little. I guess that when you walk improperly for a long time, other things start hurt and become weak because you'r whole body is out of balance. Who knew? And, the other thing I found out was that my other knee was sore. I only noticed it because I wasn't hyper focused on my "bad knee" any more! I think there is a second TechWare Pro Knee Brace purchase in my future.... As far as the stiffness of the brace when I first put it on, that lessened as I wore the brace more and more. It's kind of like breaking in a new pair of shoes. The brace fabric relaxed a bit, which made it fit much better. The velcro is super strong, too! So, there is no "peeling up" of the support bands. Also, there is a rubber grip strip on the top and bottom of the inside of the brace that keeps it from slipping. After wearing the brace all day, sitting different positions, and walking around, I find that the brace does move slightly after about 4 hours. But, you have to take into consideration how much your muscles flex when you move around and if you are perspiring, etc. Those factors would affect any kind of support you were wearing. And, It only takes a quick readjustment to get it back into place. So, for now, the brace has exceeded my expectations. Hopefully, over time, my knees, ankles, and back will heal so I can function normally with no pain.

Working well so far
I’ve had this for a few weeks now and so far so good. Having the Velcro straps rather than just a regular brace, helps to stabilize my knee from excessive sideways movement. Before, using my old brace, my knee would get sore and swell. Since using this brace, no swelling or pain in my knee. So, so far so good.

So far, so good!
I was looking for braces that I didn't have to pull up over my calves/legs because it's a pain when I have pants on. Also for smaller ones than the big black ugly ones that I got from my ortho doctor. These are nice so far, they are easy to fit to your leg, and the straps hold up to motion very well. I put them on and did yard work, which entailed a lot of bending and walking around. They held up fine, no gapping or loosening of the straps, and since they don't cover as much of the leg as the others do, they were really comfortable as far as that goes. They supported my knees perfectly, I didn't have any pain or tired feeling from them. I have arthritis in my knees, no injury or anything like that, so I need just support around the kneecap. These fit the bill very well, and the color is neutral, which is also something I want. I'd recommend these to anyone who wants a decent brace for doing moderate activity. They appear to be very durable, so I'm hoping that I will get plenty of use out of them. Any changes and I will update my review.

Surprisingly good, experiment with how to fit it properly
My knees suddenly began to give out after decades of very mild and insignificant arthritis which came and went. It finally came and didn't go and I found myself struggling to get up and down a few steps. Big shock and adjustment. This was the first knee pad I bought based on many reviews, and I wasn't expecting too much from it but it does work. It supports my worst knee well enough to get up and down the steps and walk around the supermarket without pain. When the knee is at its most sensitive there is some discomfort still but without the brace I doubt I would be able to walk at all. This is almost a perfect solution and at this price, a no-brainer. I have only the one critique, and that is that there seems to be too much material below the knee even though the top fits just fine. The brace does bunch up when the lower strap is tightened and there's just too much of it to completely straighten out. This is because the brace is the same width all the way down, while the upper leg is that much wider than the lower. It doesn't interfere at all with the working of the brace, it just makes it a bit more bulky below the knee. I find it will still fit under jeans, so no big deal, but I knocked a star off for the imperfect fit. [UPDATED] I experimented with fitting the lower part before the upper and finishing with the center, which is not the way it's supposed to be done according to the instructions. It works far better now. It's possible to smooth out the bottom part this way, as shown in the photos. So I put the fifth star back, and suggest that before you give up on a good fit you also take time to explore what works for you, which may not necessarily be the way the instructions suggest. Whatever works for you, is the right way to do it.

Just OK... Not Enough Targeted Support
I was hoping to eliminate the combo support that I have to wear on my bad knees. I wear a Physix compression sleeve under a Chopat knee strap. The Physix compression sleeve lends overall compression/support to my knee area to reduce swelling and add a little widespread stability. The Chopat knee strap is a 2 part support strap that has little neoprene "tubes" on the inside that hit right above and right below my knee to basically hold it together and keep it stable. This Techware knee brace completely covers the knee except for a hole for the knee cap. For me, it serves the same function as a compression sleeve except it gives much more firm and stable support which can be adjusted, which is great. I measured my knee as instructed and was almost in between sizes. I could have technically worn an XL but chose to size up and it was a good choice. The XXL knee brace fits perfectly. I like that it has 3 straps for more adjustability in the places I need most. The velcro is very strong and sticks where you put it without moving. It's made of thick, good quality material. Here's the part I have a problem with: while it does support my knee in an overall, widespread kind of way. It doesn't have the targeted support that I need like the Chopat knee strap. Maybe my knee is just too bad to expect too much from a non-custom made brace. However, I will say that if it just had those little neoprene "tubes" built into the underside of the brace that would hit right above and below the knee when fastened, I'd give this brace 5 stars because it would lend more stability by holding the knee joint more firmly. Just look up Mueller knee strap or Chopat knee brace and read about what I mean. Unfortunately, those straps don't have the coverage I need and this brace, while it has the coverage, doesn't have the targeted support I require. My search continues until I break down and get a knee replacement. It's an OK brace. It does stop my knee from hurting when I'm sitting around so I'm going to keep it. It just doesn't have enough support if I'm going to be active. If they ever come out with a version that has the little support tubes built in as I suggest, I'll be the first in line to get one!

So far the best brace I've been able to find for a bigger leg/knee.
I purchased this brace after spraining my knee and Ace bandages weren't cutting it. I didn't have much luck finding something in a store that fit my [bigger] leg comfortably or that wouldn't slide down while simply walking (hobbling, in my case, since I was injured and in quite some pain). This brace did the trick. It's comfortable and supportive without being completely restrictive. The brace stayed in place and helped my healing process. I only wore the brace a short time, as my pain had begun to subside significantly by the time I found this brace (and I'm stubborn). I still have a lot of work to do to build my strength back up and I am glad to have the brace for support and to minimize soreness and pain. I read all of the reviews and was on the fence about sizing. I sized up, even after taking my measurements because all the other products I've tried (this time and other supportive braces in the past) are typically uncomfortable and cut off circulation. I am very happy with the fit and would probably have been okay with a size down. I gave 5 stars because of how happy I am with the fit and support. I cannot speak to longevity or durability at this time.

The Most Practical, Most Supportive Brace
Unless you're willing to rock Stone Cold Steve Austin style knee braces, with the metal struts, this is a grand brace. You can easily adjust how much support vs. range of motion with the straps. The metal pieces are well shielded and don't dig into your leg much at all (if you wear it long enough, you'll feel them, though). The only issue I have with it is that it's slightly warm, which is understandable (I did not deduct from the rating for this). It's a bunch of tight neoprene and it's going to be warm, there ain't no way around it. Generally what I do is wear a lighter brace (the elasticized sleeve type) when at work and then wear this on around the house, as I do put a fair amount of strain on my knee from sitting and sleeping the way I do. The only thing I'd change about this brace is that I'd make the material on the side opposite the strap a bit longer and wider. Unless you get it JUST right, the straps will dig into your skin ever-so-slightly after some time. I try to position them over the material, but with motion and time, they slip and slide ever so slightly until you've got the silicone pads pressing on your bare skin. I dislike the five star system because it's not fair. As such, I've given it a 5 star rating, but I'd like to exposit a bit. Quality is just fine, I doubt the stitching or materials will give out any time soon in the next few years. Material quality is quite nice, and the design and ergonomics are exceptional. As mentioned above, the only fault is that there isn't quite enough material on the part of the brace opposite of the brace, so the strap digs into the minute amount of flesh that doesn't get covered up. Don't know if that slight flaw could be solved by making a XXL, as that is my size in other braces, and I believe the largest size is XL with this brace. Anyway, absolutely great brace that's between a simple elastic sleeve and the crazy external strut braces that Stone Cold wears. Price ain't bad either.

Quality product. Lost some elasticity after a year.
I bought two. For the most part, they work well. I have noticed after about a year of use, one of them is not as tight as it used to be, and as I need it to be.

Instant support for my unstable knee
This is my second review of this product. I misplaced the first one I purchased, so I bought again and I bought the same size, a size Large. I'm now purchasing a third one, because I had surgery the end of January 2023 and with the swelling in my leg and around my knee, the middle strap is just barely making it around to attach to the velcro. I need it for a flight, to contain the swelling, as recommended by my physiotherapist. So, I decided for comfort sake, I'll purchase an X-Large and that should be good while my knee is still swollen. I do find that my knee feels more stable wearing this when I'm walking. I love that it is adjustable. I find it is best against the skin, as it stays in place better. Over fabric, especially a slick fabric, it tends to slide down. It's a great brace, I'd highly recommend it.
