Comfortable and Well Made
Out of the box these shoes look well made. Purchased for a trip to Scotland and Ireland, where we plan to hike and walk in wet conditions, so the waterproof feature was important. They are a little heavy - not a summer hiking shoe imo, but sturdy with a great tread. They are also little boxy looking, but not a distraction. I normally wear a 7.5 medium width and and the 7.5 fits well - They are a little wider than expected, but a tight sinch made them fit fine. Very comfortable right out of the box. Happy with purchase. If there are problems after our trip, I will update this review.

Great shoes
I use them almost daily for walking and hiking. They are very durable, they fit well - no blisters, and are a good value for the money. I did wear them on a trail that was very dusty, I sprayed the outside of them with a hose and the water did not seep in.

A "go-to" shoe for hiking
Great shoe. I bought these two years ago and have now worn these for several months of hiking in Peru, Mexico and Ecuador. They are sturdy, great support, comfortable, a definite "go-to" shoe. I'd say the only negative is that one of my shoelaces upon purchase was longer than the other one - not a huge deal - and other than that, it's a big shoe (not sleek and easy to pack). So. when I take these shoes, I wear them on the plane. I've never regretted this purchase.

Color not what expected but comfortable and nice looking
I really am debating about whether to return these low cut hikers or to keep them. I need a good waterproof shoe for winter mud/slush and regardless of the color, these fit that need. But, the color of the hikers I received is quite different from what is shown both in the product photos and photos other customers posted. I got the Weiss/Boysenberry low cut hiker. It is shown as a warm brown color with similar shades of brown for the design elements. What I got is a shoe that is very dark in comparison, like a well worn oil coat and the design elements are closer to taupe or gray than brown. The Boysenberry is more purple than pinkish but it's still a pretty accent color. I get that colors can appear different on different monitors/devices but I have a very good, large monitor that displays color pretty darned accurately (I do photo editing so I need that) and my husband and I order stuff online quite a bit, rarely do I find such a huge difference in the color of something we receive compared to what is shown online. Almost never. So I'm not sure what's up with this shoe but it's disappointing, it's not what I was expecting. Yes, it's a nice shoe, nice-looking, but the shoe shown was warm and appealing whereas what I got is more like a man's shoe as far as the dark leather. A couple other people posted pics of their shoes and those look just like the Keen product photos, so obviously my expectations were not misplaced. Maybe that's why this particular color was marked down for Black Friday - the color is off. If I'd known though, I would not have bought it. I'll probably keep it because it was on sale for a good price and it will fill the need for a waterproof hiker, but after looking more carefully at reviews where the sides of the shoes crack and tear, I'm wondering if it will hold up in wet conditions. Generally speaking, this shoe is a little wide cut which is not a bad thing if you wear thicker socks. I don't usually, but I have some winter socks that are thicker. They are not so wide that I can't wear them even with my usual socks and I can try to lace them a little tighter. If you'll be hiking in them though, you may want to wear a thicker hiking sock so your foot doesn't move around too much. I'll try to remember to add a photo to this review later. Can't take the time right now.

Great Hiking Shoes For Serious Hikers
This is my second pair of Keen Targhee III hiking shoes. I wore the first pair out and love them so much that I wouldn’t even think of getting a different hiking shoe. I even have the boot version for winter. I walk my dogs every day and hike on various surfaces like dirt, gravel, mud, roots, logs, up hills, moss, grass, rocks, paved surfaces and find that the tread on the Targhee III gives me excellent traction so that I don’t slip. As anyone who has walked over a moss covered rock can attest to, it can be quite dangerous with the wrong shoe. The toe guard is also a necessity so that you don’t whack your big toe on rocks or tree roots that you may not see whilst strolling along. I also like the thick padding around the ankle to reduce the amount of pebbles that get in my shoe. While it doesn’t eliminate them all, it greatly reduces the amount so I don’t have to stop and take my shoe off to remove them. They are made of thick leather that is waterproof so that your feet won’t get wet on dewy mornings or while traipsing through large puddles. And yes you can go through some pretty deep puddles without your feet getting wet. They are durable, my first pair lasted four years and have hundreds of miles on them, and while the tread is still good, the sole has separated from the leather so my foot gets wet. Additionally, I wear a size 6.5 and the 6.5 fits me perfectly. Though I did have to size up to a 7 for the boot version because the thick padding in the ankle pushed my foot forward. And a final observation, these shoes are so awesome, that I have actually seen other hikers on the trails with the exact same shoe!

I took my size but it's still way too big and loose, even after wearing thick socks. If you want it snug, better get one size down. I had to returned it coz it's too heavy and bulky to walk in. Still prefer to wear trail running shoes for hiking than an actual hiking shoes.

Bought this colour as it was on offer. Shoes looked like it's been in the warehouse for a while or maybe it was a display pair, has visible scratches on both shoes. Can understand that shoes on sale might have some minor defect but the condition of this pair somehow spoils the keen brand name, and especially when I was not informed of the condition of the shoe before buying. Since it was a hiking shoe, I comforted myself that the scratches will not matter after a first wear anyway.
