JENOLITE Chrome Spray Paint Silver 400ml Smooth Metallic Finish

Fantastic product and would buy again. Bought to re-paint light fittings, the spray is light and gives an even finish. First image, shows the before baubles at the bottom of the picture, where the baubles are faded compared to the baubles at the top which have been sprayed. Last image is of the finished product.

Decided to buy this after reading the good reviews on Amazon and was not disappointed. It was used over a grey primer on gold door handle letter box a door trim . It was easy to use with minimal mess and we are delighted with end result. It has given the front door new look and covers the worn gold handle letter box and door thresh . It has give a smooth cover and is a lovely colour. Hoping it lasts but we do have plenty left if it needs a touch up.

Arrived in good time. I decided to paint some chrome ceiling led light fittings in the bathroom which had deteriated over the years. Applied 2 coats about an hour apart and that was sufficient to give a good finish. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that the finish colour is more grey than chrome. However, I was actually happy with the colour and would recommend the paint unless you definitely require a shiny chrome finish.

Giving a 5 star at moment, time will tell how the paint holds up. Wardrobe nobs are metal and were gold ol of the size of the screw fitting and nob size found new ones hard to find. A friend suggested I paint them so I thought what the heck I’ll give it a go. Read reviews on this spray paint, watched the video and as the day was good went out into the garden, using the Amazon packaging and a lid from a spray oil to hold the nobs off the cardboard I gave the spray a good shake and sprayed. After letting it dry I gave a second spray. They may not look shiny chrome, but from gold to silver I’m satisfied. For just under £13 I’ve got 7 nobs that look good enough.

I bought this paint for a set of custom headlights. The price of chroming would have set me back a few hundred. I’ve tried a fair few “chrome” paints and this is as close as it gets. Whilst it’s nothing like the real deal, it does have a very reflective quality to it. I’ve tried to capture the depth from shadows cast on it and when light shines on it on my photos. This is a smooth plastic with an etch primer base, sanded up to 1200 grit and then painted. There is still orange peel due to the type of nozzle. I daren’t sand the paint as it may lose its gloss. When I did a tester with 2k lacquer, the gloss faded and it was a flat silver. The paint chips easily on plastic, and can loose it’s shine if touched with bare hands. It doesn’t seem to bind with primer like car paints. TLDR: The paint is as close to chrome as I’ve gotten from a rattle can. Sanding primer to a stupidly high grit may get you better results. Don’t sand or apply lacquer afterwards. Leave it to dry for a good few hours. My bezels were still tacky after 3 hours at room temp. If you use it on plastic, be prepared for it to lose its gloss if touched with bare hands. This is paint. It will never look as good as chrome. But it’s one of the better chrome paints I’ve tried and probably would look better on a well maintained metal surface than plastic.
