The third game in the Samurai Warriors franchise, the game features 35 playable male and female warriors, each with their own backstory, special weapon and signature attack. Weapons and abilities can be magnified on the battlefield with the variety of charged combination attacks, and can be upgraded throughout the game. Additional features include multiple game modes--some supporting co-op play--dialog in either English or Japanese, unique character creation abilities and support for the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controller combination, as well as the Classic Controller, the Classic Controller Pro or the Nintendo GameCube controller. Game Modes ---------- Packed with multiple play modes, Samurai Warriors 3 offers a diverse gaming experience designed to satisfy every player. Modes include: * Story Mode - In Story Mode players watch a different tale unfold for nearly each of the game's 35 warriors. Within these you can participate in dramatic set battles alone or with a friend in cooperative play, and as you gain victory you'll be able to select the next story that you wish to try. * Free Mode - In Free Mode players can select any game scenario found within Story Mode at large, and explore it with any warrior found in the game. * Murasame Castle Mode - In the Murasame Castle Mode, players help a lost Samurai fight his way out of a haunted castle. This mode is based on The Mysterious Murasame Castle, a game originally designed by Nintendo with input from developer Shigeru Miyamoto and released in Japan on the Famicom Disk System. In this mode, two players can battle cooperatively across long distances via broadband Internet access and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. * Historical Mode - This mode has players completing a story following the events of the Sengoku (Warring States) period in Japan using custom characters created in Dojo Mode. * Dojo Mode - In this mode players can unlock new upgradable characters, as well as create up to 20 new warriors who can be played in Free Mode, Historical Mode or Story Mode. Attacks ------- Each of the game's 35 characters has its own special weapon and devastating move, but in addition to this, because players will face hordes of enemies in a variety of situations, Samurai Warriors 3 features a variety of attacks that allow characters to unleash varying levels of damage. The most basic of these are Normal Attacks. These simple yet powerful strokes and thrusts are easily merged into rapid fire combos that make standard close combat easy to pick up. The game also features a variety of more advanced gauge-reliant attacks. These include the Spirit Charge, the devastating combos of the slow-motion based Musou Attack and the unparalleled power of the Ultimate Musou Attacks.
