Read reviews carefully!!! Great case! Great case! Great case!
First off, this case - OtterBox Defender Series Screenless Edition Case for iPhone 12 Pro Max - Black (77-65923) - is designed to fit only the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Those who complained about improper fit almost certainly did not order the correct case for the phone they owned. The plastic inner frame provides a stable attachment base for the rubber shroud. The rubber IS the same soft rubber you’re used to from all of the Defender cases you’ve used over the years. The fit is perfect, all buttons and features are accessible and it’s Otterbox tough. It is screen-less. I bought the - OtterBox Performance Plus Glass Series Screen Protector for iPhone 12 Pro Max - Clear - and it too fits perfectly with NO edge interference. I have a wireless charger that charges the phone just fine with the case installed. My opinion, this is the best case money can buy. Yes, it’s expensive… but this is a $1000+ phone. I traded in my 3 year old Otterbox protected iPhone 8 on this new one. It looked like a brand new phone when I removed the case. Read the negative reviews carefully. You can usually pic out a detail that reveals a mistake made by the owner, usually that they ordered the wrong case. Then look at the star rating ratio. If 95% of 8000 purchasers rated the case 4 stars or higher, consider how much weight you give the outliers.

Otterbox Defender Series is still the most durable phone case
Otterbox Defender Series phone case is still the most durable phone case I can find. My 4th case from years of different phones, both iPhone & Androids. This one I bought for a iPhone 12 Pro Max & it fits perfectly. Protects the phone great, hard plastic inner shell with a rubberized outer shell for shock absorption protection & grip, substantial thick lip front and back around glass screen & cameras for protection & holds up well. I’m a very active outdoorsy type so my phone always takes a serious beating. A little more bulky than standard hard shell cases, but necessary for the added protection. Cons: The only major downside that’s really disappointing is for the first time ever, the Defender (military grade protection) doesn’t come with a phone screen protector or camera lens(es) protector? So you have to buy them separately. I’m still searching for ones that stick to the phone or hold up without getting sand or water in them since the phones are waterproof now. I’m hoping switches back & starts selling Otterbox phone cases with screen protectors with their phones again. I imagine they stopped to stay price competitive. It would be nice if they added a build in credit card holder like many modern phone cases have now as well & a kickstand & wrist strap. That would be the ultimate phone case. Best phone case brands out there are Otterbox & Pelican, but I feel Otterbox Defender is still better than the competition.

THIS THING SAVED MY PHONE AFTER GETTING RUN OVER BY MULTIPLE CARS
I purchased this case 1 year ago and it's the best thing I could've done. This thing makes my iphone act like those old school Nokias. Don't believe me? Here's a story for y'all. I made the mistake of leaving my phone on top of my car while pumping gas. Like an idiot I drove off with the phone still on the roof of my car. I drove 5 mins before I realized what had happened. Obviously the phone wasn't on my car. I retraced my driving steps back to see if I could find it. Mind you it's night time in Miami. I managed to spot it pretty quickly at a busy street in suburban Miami. It looked to be in two pieces and I had given up hope. I waited until there was no cars and picked it up. Let me tell you guys something. This just happened 30 minutes ago and I'm currently writing this review from my phone that still has its OtterBox case. The two pieces were just the phone in the plastic case and the rubber cover. Now the case doesnt have a screen protector but I bought a separate one and that did it's job. The otter box slightly cracked but my phone is intact. Do I still need to get it repaired? Yes. Is my phone completely gone? Absolutely not. This case did what it was supposed to imo. Fell off a speeding car, probably got run over by 5 separate cars and yet here it is still functioning. Take with that what you will but I will stand by OtterBox all day!

Different but still excellent quality
iPhone 12 Pro Max This is my 3rd otter box for an iPhone. Although it is different materials than my last 2, (had for 2 years each) I must say it is still great quality. I’ve dropped my phone twice on ceramic tile and cement and even the screen is fine. It fits perfectly on my phone and was not hard to put together. I have read some bad reviews so I was hesitant to purchase, but I am super glad I did. It doesn’t feel as good in my hand as the last 2 but I am still going to highly recommend this case. It’s just as durable as my others and that is truly what I bought it for. PROTECTION. Also what I have noticed is that it cleans up very nicely. I got cooking oil on it and it wiped right off. My old case it would have left a mark. I am now an advocate for otter box. 3 different phones and 3 different defenders, all protected like a charm.

pretty good product, I'm keeping mine.
This is my second Otterbox Defender. I was pleased with my previous one and bought the defender case a few weeks after the iPhone 12 Pro Max was released. The quality of the defender construction remains high and I am satisfied that I can use my phone and not worry too much if it slips from my hands onto a hard floor. I've destroyed 2 previous mobile hand held devices in the last 25 years. (pre-smartphones) The Defender is high priced so I set my standards for it similarly. The Defender case no longer covers the screen because of the edge to edge view screen. The front edge of the case is raised by a millimeter or 2, so setting the phone on the face on a flat surface is adequately protective. The cameras on the back of the iPhone are raised by like 2 millimeters, so setting the bare phone on the back will always be a hazard to the cameras without a case. The Defender case raised the case enough to protect the camera. (good) ---- However for me as a guy who dumps my phone in my front pocket with my car keys, change and whatnot.... the protection is at best weak. I put a glass screen protector on mine and I think the screen is sufficiently protected now. There should be a flap to cover the back cameras, metal car keys, coins or tools in my pocket are a hazard to the lenses. That said, the defender case does include a carry clip, which if you use it (I don't) makes the desirability of a camera flap somewhat less, but the camera's lenses are still exposed. I went primitive on the problem... 2 pieces of scotch tape in a cross to cover the lenses with one end of a piece of tape tucked under to allow me to grab it off when I want to use the camera's. Off topic: And for those who are inclined to like pictures, the iPhone Pro camera's are a huge step up from my old iPhone 6s. The pictures it takes in low light sometimes are way better the what my eyes see. Very nice. Had there been better protection on the camera lenses I would have given it 5 stars. As it is, I will be keeping the case. but for $70+ dollars out of my pocket, when I could have paid about $15 for a knockoff, I'm expecting overkill on design and not almost great. If your manufacturing is in house, put out an updated version and maintain your reputation as the best.

Love Otterbox Defender Series
I always use the otterbox defender series for my phones. They are always by far the strongest and most secure option for protecting my phones. The only negative thing I have to say about this one for the 12 Pro Max is that it honestly feels a liiittle flimsier than the usual. I’ve gotten a Defender series otter box for my 6s, 6+, 8+, and now the 12 Pro Max. Out of all of them I definitely think this one doesn’t hit the mark in the sturdiness. Maybe it’s just the price of the phone itself that makes me feel a bit more nervous about it so there’s definitely a chance I’m overthinking it. Whatever the case (huehue), I highly recommend the otterbox defender series cases to anyone looking to protect their investment. I have never once had a phone break, screen splinter, or anything else like that while using these cases so overall I stick with the 5-star rating and still recommend giving it a shot.

Otter box is the number 1 brand!
I had to replace my old defender otter box (no fault of the case itself). My dog got ahold of my phone and chewed up the silicone piece. Luckily the two plastic pieces were still in tact. Somehow this case still protected my phone from a 90 lb dog 😂 unfortunately you can’t use the case with just the two plastic pieces because the silicone outer piece is what allows you to click the side buttons. I have had this case since I bought my phone a few years ago and my gosh have I dropped this bad boy and even slammed it in my car trunk. I went ahead and replaced my screen protector as well (pictured above). Once I took everything apart my phone was still in PERFECT condition. Not a scratch or ding anywhere. I’m the type of gal who always enjoys her cheaper off brand products but when it comes to protecting a $1200 phone… otter box is your best option. Spend that extra money so you don’t loose out in the end. (Second pic shows the plastic pieces after my dog got ahold of it). It holds up I promise!

Great case
I had a style almost exactly like this on my IPhone 10 and it works well. I drop my phone quite often and that case has done wonders. Ordered one for my 12 pro max and o am not disappointed at all. Have saved my phone from a few nasty drops already, I am glad I got this case otter box is more on the expensive side but is totally worth for the protection you receive.

Phone is well protected
the OtterBOX Defender SCREENLESS Edition Case is great protection for my phone as a Tradie. It is easy to fit, gives plenty of protection to the sides, back and front (given it falls flat). Only complaint is it makes the phone/case combo a reasonable amount heavier. It is not a light case. It is pretty much a life case in most ways and will protect my phone from most falls. However, be aware there is no protection against sharp objects damaging the screen. If it falls flat or scrapes along something flat the phone is well protected. It is all I want in that respect. I am however, very aware that if something not flat like a table corner or a rock hits the screen it will definitely not protect it. In all other respects it is a great cover and precisely what I wanted. Despite it increasing the phone's dimensions and it's weight a little, it slips into my pocket easily.
