The old charger 'popped' and stopped working. This is a very good replacement. Same size as original connector and works with USB C plugs.

I used it to charge my surface pro 4. It worked fine twice and the third time it failed. No indication of powering the surface in any way whatsoever and I can confirm the surface and charger are both in working order with other cables and devices. The cable shows no outward trouble except the token cheap plastic sleeve slide and it was never stretched (magnetic attachment so that’s not really possible). I ordered the shorter one and ended up having to use an extension lead (does not work even without that extension to be clear and the extension lead works with multiple other devices and this twice) - I’d suggest if you are getting a cable like this you got with another brand and get a longer one.

I bought this so I didn't have to lug another brick around in my work bag and I must say it's performing well. Just have a nice compact USB wall plug (minimum of 45w as that matches the lowest Surface power brick) and off you go. Cheap and effective, and out of the 3 surface devices I've had so far, absolutely no issues on charging any of them. This is a braided cable, but the feel can be a little cheap in the hand, gotta be honest with that, but I only use it for my work laptop mainly, so I'm not really bothered.

This is a good cable and does charge a Surface, PROVIDED you plug it into a suitable USB-C port. I've seen countless reviews on here that complain that the cable doesn't work, when they clearly haven't read the product description. It says in the description, "Requirement: 15V3A is Must This Surface charging cable requires an USB-C charger or charging bank which support 45W (or more) and 15V3A output. Doublecheck your USBC charger to ensure that it lists "15V/3A" in the specifications." If you don't plug it into a USB-C port that is capable of 15v 3a, then it wont work. it's as simple as that, and its not because the item is faulty, its because the port is not powerful enough. I've even seen a review from someone complaining that it wouldn't charge his Surface pro 3 from the USB port in his van, even though he bought an adaptor (presumably a USB-A to USB-C adaptor) for it. Well of course it wont work. The USB port in your van is not going to provide anywhere near enough power. You will get no more than 5v at 1amp from that port. More likely only half an amp. It would be like replacing the 12v battery in your van with a AA battery and expecting the van to start. It's just not going to happen. Its definitely NOT a faulty cable. You need to buy a dedicated Surface Car Charger (£16.99 here on Amazon) that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket. Having said all that, my cable did develop a loose connection at the plug end within a couple of months of buying it. Meaning I now have to wiggle the cable to find just the right angle to make the connection and charge the surface. So perhaps not as durable as it could be. But still, for the price I paid, its still pretty good value.

This cable allows me to charge my Surface laptop using my 100W USB-C charger, eliminating the need to carry the original Surface charger in my laptop bag. It is magnetic, so it stays securely connected and doesn’t fall out like other cables. The nylon braided design is durable, so doesn't feel like the wires are being strained. The 6ft length provides plenty of reach. At ~£5, it is a bargain in my opinion.

Confirmed by using the intact PD charger, this cable does not work at all. --- update 25 Oct 2020 Previously I had given 1 star since it did not work when I first received the item. However, within a couple of days the seller attentively contacted me to solve the issue, and let me try the new one. It works well with my Surface Pro 4! I recommended for everyone who's looking for not-bulky surface usb-c charging cable! Buy from this seller :)

I thought this cable would be fine, even though it's cheap, because it has a power connector specifically for the Surface Pro. I was wrong. I tried it with an unsuitable power bank and so I waited until I could justify spending money on a Yoocas laptop power bank. I couldn't find this cable at first, but then I found it after confirming that the power bank charges well enough over USB C. I tried this cable with the power bank and got a "weak charge" warning, so it's WORSE than a USB C to C cable. Terrible. It defeats the point of having this kind of cable.

I bought a 65W Power Delivery (PD) USB-C charger with this cable to charge a Surface Book 1, because I was fed up of buying a new charger every three months or so (something always goes wrong with those cheap chargers: either the charger stops working, or the cord starts to break near the tip due to bending). With this setup, at least if the cable wears out, I'll only have to buy a new cable, not a whole new charger and cable. This setup works very well. The first time I connected, the cable seemed to have a bit of difficulty deciding whether it was simply a charging cable or some kind of dock. But a reboot sorted that out, and every since (over a month of continuous use) the cable and charger have worked perfectly together even though they're from different manufacturers. It's also great to have such a long cable, which gives me the freedom to move around with it plugged in. Just be sure that if you go down this route, you need an intelligent "Power Delivery" (PD) USB-C charger of sufficient wattage, and it has to have a USB-C out (not only USB-A).

Y al final el problema no era el cable sino mis cargadores o Power Bank, ya que para conseguir cargar la Surface Pro 7 necesitas una carga con unos valores específicos de voltaje. Hochwertiges Kabel für den Surface-Dock-Anschluss, funktioniert in beiden Orientierungen. Beim Kauf des dazu passenden Netzteils muss aber ZWINGEND darauf geachtet werden, dass dieses 3A bei 15V über USB-C unterstützt, ansonsten wird das Surface nicht laden, auch nicht mit reduzierter Leistung! Das Kabel ist für unterwegs auf jeden Fall kompakter und besser als das Surface-Ladegerät und begleitet mich daher zuverlässig auf Reisen in Kombination mit einem Anker Nano 45W. Klare Kaufempfehlung!

The cord works perfectly fine there’s a few reviews about cord not working but I’m going to guess that they are using to low watts power plug the surface pro 6 needs 40watts minimum a standard usb c plug are around 20watts
