no problems so far good for 1080p-1440p gaming

Got this for my son's pc with a x570 gaming board 32gb ddr4 geforce rtx 5060 and the performance on this is miles better as before I was using a 4790k. Price was reduced at the time 👍 and very pleased with the results.

Amazing value, great performance.

As of October 2021 the AMD Ryzen 5 3600X is probably in the performance vs cost sweet spot for most home users and the average gamer. I purchased this to replace a two-year old Ryzen 7 2700X, gives a decent (c.50%) performance boost for a modest cost (particularly if I can sell the old CPU). It took less than an hour to do the swap and I was back up and running with no problems. Note that you may need a BIOS upgrade to your motherboard to support the 3600X . I did this a month earlier, but its the type of slightly risky task best not done unless you really have to - as was the case here. The only slight compliant I have is that the "thermal solution" (aka CPU cooling fan) provided as standard seems pretty lightweight and wimpy. It may in fact be fine, but I've used instead a third party CPU cooler, it cost only £40 but seems a substantial upgrade from the AMD cooler.

Got this Ryzen 5 5600X for my son's PC upgrade from his old i5-4690K, he was CPU-bound in a few games. Plugged into his new AM4 board, and it's transformed everything: smooth 1440p gaming now, no more CPU bottlenecks in CPU-heavy stuff like Star Citizen, No Man's Sky. 6 cores/12 threads fly along at stock speeds, cooler than expected too at 65W. Game-changer for the price, son's thrilled with the performance jump. 5 stars!

5 years later still great

I don't fully know technology however it is what it is, it's a fast CPU that I paired with a Radeon RX 7700XT which work perfect together. Like normally, it's an easy CPU to put in with the heatsink. The heatsink provided works great, but I used a larger heatsink with two fans instead. You can play most modern games at Ultra settings 1080p at 100fps, or 60fps at 4K with a good GPU pair. It can pull very little power when not in full load, and does pull upwards of 65W when at ~90% usage. Great CPU for the price.

I have been looking for this CPU for a while and decided to finally take the plunge to purchase. Delivery was quick and this CPU was very easy to install and the benefit of this retail model was the inclusion of a fan. The fan inclusion saved me some $$ to be used on other upgrades (granted not a huge saving). Running this on a Win10 Home edition build and currently no issues, solid thus far. The CPU also included TPM which almost all Win-based modern CPU should have, (I upgraded from a 4th generation Intel based CPU - which did not have TPM) this is a key requirement for Win 11 (and yes you can get a separate TPM module for legacy systems to upgrade to Win 11). Overall very happy with this CPU

After suffering for more than 7 months of constant out-of-stocks and price gouges, we've finally entered a cooling phase that will probably only last for a short while and then go back to status quo and then come back here again. Although I'm not really gonna laugh my way to the bank, because it took more than 7 months to reach this low, and my friends had gotten theirs for a slightly higher price back then.

The Ryzen 5 5600X has been a great processor for my PC. It has plenty of performance for gaming and everyday use, and I’ve had no issues with it. The included Wraith Stealth cooler is a nice bonus if you’re trying to keep the build affordable. Overall, a solid CPU for a budget gaming PC.
