Great Product
I have used this for about a week with my 360 and ps3. It works great. The sound is amazing. There is a slight hiss, but I should not even mention it. I am an audio nut and it is minor. It is only when there is no audio and you turn down the volume during that or use these headphones open ear bud feature so you don't have to wear the headset while waiting for the game lobby to finish. You hear it like in game lobbies and out of 10 being noticable it is like a 1-2 depending on the volume. Once the game gets started, the music alone stops the static and you add gunfire, sound effects, and chat you hear notice no hiss. Minor. I've heard worse static. Once the audio kicks in it really pops. It has a sound has atmosphere where it seems to go about 8-15 feet around you. Chat sound is great. Talking is clear both when you hear it and when you talk. Ps3 setup was a breeze. Just watch the video on youtube or the video on here that is the last picture. If you have a nicer hd tv or a surround sound system do not buy the processor to get 5.1 sound. It is not needed. This headset can receive pro logic 2 virtual surround sound and extremely close to the real thing. You just lose a little bit of the dead center front and rear sound so if someone is running around you in a circle you might hear a tiny bit of an audio jump from one speaker to the other minor. Typically in the heat of fps battle all you really need to know is the guy coming from front right, rear right, front left, or rear left and boy can you tell it. I have the full audio setup. A ps3 and 360 going to my 3d tv via hdmi and it supports hd audio as well as all dolby digital and dts. I have my tv send audio to my surround sound system, but I made my surround sound system idiot proof since my dad is remote challenged. (awful!) I have my tv do the conversions and it has a headphone jack than can send pro logic ii which is simulated surround sound and this headphone support it. If you are copying my setup you will want to buy something. Buy a little 6 foot headphone extension cable. I have mine connected to the back of my tv and comes out by my cable box with over 3 feet of slack. The end of the cable has to connect to usb and the headphone jack (or included stereo to white and red rca audio cables). Having the extension cable will allow you to connect to your tv and your system at the same time. The headphone and usb cables can only be about 6-8 inches apart so your connections have to be extremely close and that is why I need the extension. I wanted to avoid going to the back of the tv or receiver every time I wanted to use the headphones. Having that kind of setup will make you use these less. That way you can store these headphones in another location instead of having them always connected. With a little sister and rough housing friends of hers I want these headphones hidden away. These headphones have great sound quality, but there is a complaint I have about them. First, you can't hear the phone ring. Minor, but some people get mad when you don't answer. My solution, put mr. cordless next to the tv and when the phone lights up when it is ringing you can see it. Second complaint, with the way the little adapter clips to your shirt and the headset itself it is a little tricky to quickly put it away if someone knocks on the door or someone calls, minor. Third, the product feels extremely fragile. It feels like if I dropped it, put it away wrong, twisted the ear pieces a little too much it might break. Product is great, just wish it had heavier quality plastics around the headset. I've had no problems, but this is one product that I might have to re-purchase due to how fragile it is. For the average joe I would look into getting an extension cable so you can put these away unless you live by yourself. I would consider finding a storage case or a good location to store these headphones so no one drops them or sits on them. Finally, if you have a receiver or newer tv I would seriously consider getting these and saving your money from buying a 5.1 headset or the 5.1 ear force processor. I have a high end tv, speaker, and surround sound setup and the sound quality and surround sound features seem to 85-92% similar to a regular 5.1 dts or dolby digital game surround sound with my setup and these stereo headphones. That will probably get some boo's from audio fans, but it does come seriously close. With the bass feature and the surround sound boost feature on these headphones the virtual surround sound is awesome. Only on rare situations can I turn the volume up in games and my gaming chair is not dead center of my tv so the left audio is stronger than the right. Not a problem with the headphones since you are getting the full experience and at a higher volume. I was playing Halo reach and I was doing better than I normally do since I could hear where the enemies were coming from. Works awesome with both ps3 and 360. A huge plus so you don't have to buy multiple headsets. I know I am not the only one who jumps around between systems. Hard to stick with one system with games like Uncharted, Resistance, Gears of War, and Halo. Off topic. Look up "fps freaks" on amazon. The combination of those controller modifications and these headphones doubled if not tripled my gaming performance online. I don't work for them. Just bought them with the headphones and it was a blast!

Great head set
I loved this headset. I say loved because I rolled over the wires with my chair. The cords are very long so proper placement is key if you own a chair with wheels. If you sit on a couch and only use them for gaming just be wary of people stepping on them. These headphones work with PC and PS3. (Did not test on 360) The sound FOR THE BEST SOUND YOU DO HAVE TO PLUG IN THE JACK AND USB. Personally I loved the sound it gave me for video games. The louder the volume the better the sound. The added bass with the expander is very good. Specifically in MW2 and Battlefield Bad Company 2. You get the feeling of where the sound comes from in the direction it does. One of my favorite options is being able to mute people without having to actually do so yourself. There is a chat volume to turn off all other people talking. Which is fantastic because in games like MW2/Black Ops you sometimes don't want to listen to morons. For music they aren't audiophile quality but they were much better than my speakers. I would suggest if you are listening to Rock turn off the expander and adjust the bass, if you listen to Hip/Hop rap turn the bass up and the expander on. The quality of the microphone sound is just as good. It was better than my old mic which made me sound like a 13yr old boy. If you have a unique voice it seems to capture it well. The feel At first they gripped rather tightly around my head and hurt my ears. Partly because I have a piercing on my left ear. They seemed to loosen up after a bit of use. They were a little uncomfortable but once they loosen up they become pretty comfortable. Depending upon where you place the clip it can be comfortable. I placed it on my shirt and part of the cord got in my face. I would suggest putting on your pants. (Probably was meant for that anyway - didn't realize until i broke them) Cost and final thoughts For the cost, these are fantastic headphones. I only wish I didn't murder them myself. I loved the compatibly with PC which to me was the selling point. FOR THE BEST SOUND YOU DO HAVE TO PLUG IN THE JACK AND USB.

A bit uncomfortable but it gets the job done
Let me start off by saying that the PX21s have decent sound quality. Better than the TV. The build of the headset is feels pretty cheap overall. Does it feel heavy on your head? After an hour or two you will start to feel the headset clamping down on your head (mostly your ears) and you'll want to take it off. The control module (where you control the chat volume/game volume/bass/etc.) has a clip, and that pretty much snaps if you drop it, cheap. They say you won't disturb anyone while wearing these; that's only half correct. Sometimes I just use the headset for game sound instead of the TV. When you turn up the volume on the headset, others will hear it. I doesn't isolate the sound very well, even when I am wearing it. If I knew it was going to be like this I wouldn't have bought it in the first place. I think $80 dollars is a bit overpriced for the weekend gamer. Now, the sound quality? It's decent, like I said, better than the TV. If your playing a shooter game you'll be able to hear somebody sneaking up on you. The microphone boom feels very plasticy. The sound quality of the mic is once again, decent. Now let's get to the pros and cons. Pros - Decent sound quality - Decent microphone quality - Good bass... BOOM - Appealing design - You won't disturb anyone while your playing.. unless you have the volume of the headset turn all the way up - Pretty easy to set up (less than 10 minutes) - Long cords, 20 ft. + Cons - Ears hurt after about an hour (Feels like headset is clamping down on you) - Overall quality feels cheap - Microphone boom feels cheap - Sound control module clip breaks easy [UPDATE 2/14/11] The left (L) side now has no sound, this is due to bad wiring. I know this because If I bend the cables a certain way, the sound comes back and it I release it, the sound goes away. These headphones have made me better, but not by much anymore, considering that I can only hear from my right ear. I mostly use it for in-game chatting now. I wonder if this product comes with a 1-year warranty or something... I would really like that. ************************************************************************ I hope you found my review helpful. I have been using these for a few months now. Well actually, to tell you the truth, I rarely use them now. When I first bought these I used it every day and now when I wear them, it just bothers me.

Ear Force PX21 Negative review
I purchased this item in March, 2010. When it was delivered it did have a hissing sound when there was no sound playing as other reviewers here have noted. The headphones also made a crackling noise on occassion that sounded like a short in a wire. The headphones worked fairly well for about a month but then the crackling noise became worse and worse. There seemed to be a short on both sides of the control box. Despite being handled with great care, the sound went out on one side and then both sides. I could hear a pulsing beeeping tone. By jiggling the wires about I could make the phone work but why put up with that? Beware of this problem and if you encounter it return the phones immediately for a patial refund. You can't return them if they break after 30 days unless Amazon makes an exception to their refund policy. I solved my problem by purchasing a blue tooth microphone headset from Amazon (36 bucks) and combining it with a Sharper Image SHP 920 wireless headphone I bought on sale for 11 bucks at Menards. I did not need the phones at the time, but at that price I bought 2 pair. Those phones sell for around 25 bucks online. They work very well. They are great for hotel use because of the included multiple input jacks and they also include a microphone on the transmitter for computer use. Happy Gaming!

Solid headset. Physically and Quality-y
First off, I find it slightly amusing that Amazon has the rating system for this gaming headset require the reviewer to rate "How much fun is this game?" and "How do you rate this game overall?" Perhaps because this is in the video game section of Amazon, I suppose. Obviously, I chose 5 stars, though those 5 stars cannot be applied to a concept that is moot in regard to the product, I still want the product to have 5 stars overall. I have only had this headset for a couple weeks. Since then, however, I have put it to extensive use: I've used this headset for playing Battlefield 3, Uncharted 3, Modern Warfare 3, and I have watched Netflix television shows and movies. As Uncharted 3 was listed, I think you realize that I have used this for PS3. The Physical: The cord for the headset is plenty long. The remote is integrated into the cord; there is no chance of losing it. Except if you lose the cord, which is attached to the headset, then you've lost the entire headset. Why'd you do that? The remote not only contains the volume adjustment wheel, but also a chat volume wheel, a bass adjustment wheel, a mute tab, and a surround sound type tab. The remote also has a clip so that you can clip it on your shirt or something. The only downnside to the remote, in my experience, is that if you don't clip it to something, as I often do not, and let it lay across your lap or whatever, the volume wheels can be adjusted as you move your body or if the remote falls off your lap to the floor. I don't mean the wheels adjust via gravity or motion itself, but that your motion may cause your leg to rub against the wheel. This is entirely the user's fault and didn't effect my rating, but a sudden onslaught of noise is a sudden onslaught of noise. The Quality: This headset is truly phenomenal. The sound quality is not to be compared. Well, except perhaps to a very expensive headset, but, who honestly has hundreds of dollars for something like that? Sadly, not I. I can hear my enemie's footsteps and incoming vehicles, etc., with ease. It DOES improve your gaming. Or, rather, it allows you to become more immersed into whatever game you are playing, increasing your attention to the small details. And there are details. You really will never appreciate the sound capabilities of a game like BF3 or UC3 without a headset such as this one to consolidate the sound right into your ear canals. Great value. I've done a lot of research. So save yourself some time and buy this headset. =) -Cheeers!

Great Product with small Flaws
Allright, I bought these at Best Buy in May of 2010 and they were a great product overall. The sound was just what I needed and with the built in mic i couldn't go wrong. I'll just go into the problems I had with it for the time a spent using them...and the pros of course IM A BAD SPELLER BTW(BY THE WAY) The sound was above par indeed. I never owned a gaming headset but these have a PERFECT price range for what you get. Comfort - I game for quite a long period of time. I can easily get a 6 hour session if not longer. With past experience with headphones in general I know that I have sensitive ear. About 4 hours into gaming i do feel some slight discomfort. The headphones seem to squish your head a tiny bit to much. I had no problems with the top head cushion as well as the ear muffs. Both quite comfy, but if you gonna game hard and long (no pun intended) it might get annoying. Sound - Im not the one to critteque sound but i can say that these were great, I could blast these in my ear with MINIMAL distortion. When the volume is turned extremely low, I did experience a slight hiss which is always annoying but when playing on a normal game volume, you wouldn't notice a thing. the volume controller is awsome also, being able to adjust the game and chat volume is just amazing. Hard to play without. CONS - Allrighty, there are very few cons but there are some. One of them that started to aggrevate me soon after i bought them was the microphone. The problem was with the swing arm; it originally (kinda) snapped into position so it wouldn't move. But soon after with MINIMAL, and i mean MINIMAL amount of movement, the plastic inside pretty much just rubbed away and there is nooo snapping. And when i move it up/down it makes a "nails on a chalkboard sound". I just stopped moving it completely and kept it all the way down but it just felt cheap when it broke that fast. Next one isn't a con, it's more stupidity on my part. DO NOT twist the earcup outwards. There is no leniency. it's hard to explain. Just don't take them off to fast. I broke mine when a raged haha. Overall - Great Buy indeed. not a lot of money for what your getting

A decent headset, but a couple faults
I own a pair of Sennheiser HD-280 PRO Headphones and the PX21 Gaming headset is a definite step down from that in terms of audio quality and feel. I wanted to have headphones that included a mic, but didn't want to skimp too much on quality. It turns out I've been spoiled by Sennheiser. I ended up not using the mic that often and just putting back on the Senns. Even turning up the Bass switch on the PX21 to max doesn't compare to the natural sounding bass frequencies produced by the Sennheiser. If you're looking for superior quality audio and don't need a mic, then I highly recommend the Sennheiser combined with the Earfoce DSS processor (product link below) for your gaming and movie surround sound experience. The problems with the PX21 are mostly minimal, but I thought combining this with the Ear Force DSS 7.1 Channel Dolby Surround Sound Processor also made by Turtle Beach, I would have a winner. The DSS processor is a nice added bonus for true 7.1 surround sound in a headset, but both together don't quite live up to their expectations considering how much you are paying for these moderately high quality audio products. It turns out my pair produces some light buzzing noises in-game when it's suppose to be silent. Furthermore, I found the "Expander" switch to be nearly useless as it produced too much echo and ambient static noise for my taste. Better to leave it off. The only good things I find about this headset are plenty of adjustment dials for volume, bass and chat controls, the long reach of the cord, and the microphone sounds decent. However, in looking for good quality audio for your surround gaming or movie experience in the form of a headset, it is hard for me to recommend the PX21 unless you are just looking for a better microphone for in-game chatting and are not looking for a headset to turn up to max volume. In those cases, you don't need a better quality headset and these will do just fine.

A great accesory if you own a game console
First of all, i gotta say that i've never had a headset before, so since this is my first time owning one, i was very very careful when choosing the headset. So well, lemme give you a description of this headset: What i found good on it: -The main cord is extremely long (haven't measured it but it's like 4 meters long), but it has a envelope, so you can wrap it if you don't need to play so far from your tv. -You can attach the sound controls to your belt or your pants, making easier to increase or decrease volume. -The chat boost works great, you can adjust the chat loudness as much as you want, so you will always get what others are saying. -Stereo expander works great if you want to increase the accuracy of where sounds come from (I am not sure but i've heard that this feature doesn't works with some games) -You can turn off the mic if you don't want to be heared. -Mic can be placed on any direction, so you can use it on any side of the headset. -The headset is big, so it won't hurt your head. -Speakers surround your ears instead of pressing them. -Bass boost is great, but don't expect it's gonna be like a home theater, because it doesn't increases the bass that much. -Crisp sound. What you may find bad: -Were you worrying about hissing? well this headset hisses, but hey, it's not an annoying hissing, you will only notice it if there's a total silence in your room and you have the headset on a high volume. -If you have big ears, it may result a bit unconfortable the first days, and maybe your ears will hurt too like it happened to me, but once again, they're gonna hurt first days only. -If you are using HDMI and your tv hasn't audio out jacks, you will have to use the standard a/v cable that came with your ps3 or xbox 360, so you will be full of wires (Which is really annoying to me) and also you will have to reprogram your console to send audio via the standard a/v cable and video via the HDMI cable. -What you hear can be heard outside, so if someone has sleeping problems you will still annoy him or her. Anyway this headset is a great addition to your console, so i highly recommend it for those who are looking for a headset.

Great quality but cheap plastic
I'm using this with the DSS in a DPX21 configuration. My first PX21 lasted just over two years until the plastic above the ear cup tore and exposed the covered wire. Overall, it is the best headset I've used for gaming and music/movies with the DSS. Pros: Quality of sound, microphone, features. Cons: Plastic connections around movable parts are weak. Use with care.

klare Kaufempfehlung- Preis/Leistung super
