I’m only 5’2”. Does this work for shorter adults?

If you were asking about whether or not the seat would fit on your bike (and not on the seat), my wife has a bike with a small frame and we noticed that with the shorter down-tube it feels more cramped with our daughter up there. But it still works. She's 5'7. If your bike has a longer top tube, it will probably work.

Hi Andrew from Shotgun here, there is a great page on our website which helps answer this question but I have pasted below. As you can see there are a number of factors to consider, including your own height if your kid is tall.

IS MY CHILD OLD ENOUGH TO USE THE SHOTGUN SEAT?
The shotgun seat is designed for kids 2 years and older, but every child is different – and you know your little one best. We have kids as young as 18 months who are loving riding up-front, but as a general guide, the following signs are a good indication that your little person is ready to ride shotgun:

They can sit unaided
They can follow basic instructions
They can stay awake (for the length of your bike ride)
WHEN WILL MY CHILD OUTGROW THE SHOTGUN SEAT?
The shotgun seat has a maximum weight limit of 48lb / 22kg, which for most kids will see them safely riding shotgun until 5 or 6 years – or until they are more interested in riding their own bike instead, which is a great result.

CAN I ADJUST THE HEIGHT OF THE FOOT-PEGS, OR EXTEND THE LEGS OF THE SHOTGUN SEAT? 
The height of the foot pegs themselves are not adjustable, however you can swing the legs of the shotgun seat forward or back to suit your rider.

I HAVE AN XS FRAME, WILL THE SHOTGUN SEAT WORK?
We have plenty of parents using the shotgun seat on extra small frames. But more important that the size of your bike, is your height vs the height of your child. For example, if your child is very tall for their age, and you the parent are rather short – you may struggle to see over your child's helmet whilst riding.

We are yet to have a shotgun seat returned for this reason, but each child, adult and bike are unique. If you're concerned, we suggest taking the shotgun seat for a test ride at your local stockist.

The shotgun seat does not have a maximum height limit, but if your child is 4 or 5 years old, and is very tall for their age, and you the parent are rather short – you may struggle to see over your child's helmet whilst riding.
