Perfect solution for compost! No odor and beautiful appearance!
I had been looking for a compost that was inconspicuous, slim, sealed so no odor and this was the perfect fit for what I wanted. It comes with compost bags so no cleaning the canister after is needed. It is on my counter now but I do plan on hanging it up . It holds a good amount of compost and I am able to leave the food in there for weeks without any odor.

Excellent design
I recently added the Small Compost Trash Can to my kitchen setup, and it's been a game-changer! This little gem hangs conveniently at the side of my regular trash can, making it super accessible for composting while I cook. What I love most about this compost bin is how easy it is to clean. The smooth surface wipes down effortlessly. It's incredibly low-maintenance, which is a huge plus in my book. The lid design is great. It's easy to open with just one hand, stays open if I want it to during food prep, yet it effectively blocks out any odors. This means I can compost without worrying about unpleasant smells lingering in my kitchen. I typically empty mine only once or twice a week. Not only is this compost bin functional, but it also looks great. The sleek design complements my kitchen decor perfectly, and matches well with my brushed aluminum trash can. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. This compost bin is a convenient, easy-to-clean solution for composting that seamlessly integrates into my kitchen routine. If you're looking for a hassle-free way to reduce food waste, I highly recommend giving this compost bin a try!

Looks great and works great
This container works as well as it looks. The bags that came with it fit perfectly and there is absolutely no smell. This canister replaced a plastic one I kept under my sink until I couldn’t take it anymore. The dog kept nosing the top of it off when the doors were open. It’s made well and will look sharp for some time. I keep this on my countertop now and am very happy with it.

Very Well Made; Needs a Handle
My county has just started weekly curbside compost collection. A lidded pail was provided along with the curb bin, but the smell bothered my husband enough to banish it to the garage, making it hard for me to quickly toss eggshells, avocado peels, etc. Checking a lot of reviews, it looked like this one would do the trick, and I'm pretty pleased with it so far. Pros: Sturdy construction, very easy to pull apart, the green liner tub is strongly made and quite smooth for easy cleaning. My 3 gallon compostable bags line it quite nicely, albeit with plenty of extra bag "fabric" to fold over the rim -- actually a plus, as the bags don't have drawstrings, and this means I have enough to tie them off. Very nice looking. I'm pretty sure it traps the smell better than the county plastic tub. However I cannot guarantee that as my husband requested I keep it in the fridge so the scraps are kept quite cool. Cons: Not a problem for me as I don't usually generate enough food waste in a week to stuff it, but it is a fairly small volume. If you're cooking for large groups and have a ton of vegetable peels, bones, waste fat, and such, you'll be emptying this pretty often. As I said, 3 gallon bags are more than enough for it. Yet slim as it is, it doesn't fully fit in the fridge door bottom shelf (the only place I have room for it in there, and that shelf can hold gallon jugs of milk) and I'm concerned I'm going to crack the shelf plastic. Plus the only handle is the notch on the back side intended for socketing onto a large trash bin, so I have to two-handed grab the bin out when I have more than a small handful of things to drop in it. Since the top portion of the bin is held on only by gravity, if I forget and grab it too high up I just pull up the top. I'm still happy with it, but a lifting swivel handle would do wonders. The fridge door shelf problem isn't this bin's fault in the slightest, so the one star off is due only to the handle issue.

A great compliment to the garbage/recycling container
The simplehuman Compost Caddy fits perfectly on the side of our simplehuman garbage/recycling container in the kitchen. It looks fantastic and makes me feel a lot better not having to throw compostable materials into the trash. The bucket inside comes in and out easily and the compostable liner bags for it are great. All around, a great product!

Used cat litter caddy
The size of this caddy is perfect for my use. I am using it to store used cat litter in bags during the day, so that I only go to the outside bin once in a day. I line the insert with a plastic bag and scoop a few spoons of activated charcoal in there also. The bathroom remains fresh. Cats are not the least bit interested in the container. It is very stable on the floor. My current location doesn't do food recycling, if it did I think this would hold a few meals worth of food prep and waste. I also think that it would contain any waste food aromas. The magnet is strong, though personally I don't think I would attach it to the outside of another bin, rather I would store it under the sink.

What you NEED to know about compost before buying
We have been composting for 4 years now, being lucky enough to live in a city that does curbside compost pickup. One major benefit of composting is that **our trash has stopped smelling bad.** It's an incredible perk. HOWEVER. To actualize this benefit, you need a compost bin with HOLES in the lid. People keep thinking they want an airtight bin to keep odors out of the kitchen, and product companies market to uninformed consumers, resulting in this ridiculous product from Simple Human. That's NOT how compost works. Food stinks as it rots when it decomposes anaerobically, ie without oxygen, ie what happens when you have a lid without air holes. Like this one. So: After 4 years of enjoying an odor-free kitchen, every time I open this tiny bin, I reel, because it STINKS. And right now it's less than a quarter full, and the food has been there for ONE night only. (Notice that others who don't have a problem with odor note that they have no problem *when the lid is closed.* With a good compost bin, you shouldn't have a problem when the lid is open either.) We bought this originally to match the stainless steel of our kitchen appliances, but it is ABSOLUTELY NOT worth the cost of 1. Extra odor, and 2. Having to take the compost out more frequently because of smaller bin capacity. We will stick with our city-provided bin until some product company smartens up and makes a proper bin with air holes.

Pricy But Sleek
I resisted buying this because it seemed expensive for a small container, but it really looks lovely. I'm an avid gardener and have a voracious army of worms who make me wonderful vermipost (black gold) from my veggie scraps, leaves, and paper, etc. I had been collecting my scraps in a bowl, but got tired of looking at half rotten veggies and coffee grounds. I looked at other compost bins, but they appeared bulky and too big. This one really is attractive and convenient to use.
