Not a primer in the classic sense
Worked great for my project. I think some of the bad reviews are from people that thought this was a normal primer. It’s not. It’s meant just to prep the surface so that any loose paint gets sealed up and doesn’t come loose. Did exactly as I expected, worked great.

Great stuff to have in your armoury
I've used this before when I was trying to paper a wall. I lifted the paper to position and parts of the original builders paint started peeling off where they had not printed drywall compound underneath. I stripped what I could and used this to seal down the edges. Worked a treat On this more recent project I was painting a whole house which had had many paint jobs over the years. Most was ok, but we'd suddenly get parts when the paint peeled off during prep. This worked to get those stuck down. I actually brought it where sections of popcorn needed repair (complete removal not wanted). Used a craft knife to cut back until the popcorn was better fixed. Then applied peel stop. I'd intended to then use a popcorn repair product and did do this at first on one section. I'm pretty confident the Peel Stop was helping there. We ended up having new popcorn sprayed on the repair areas. In one area this was fine e before we'd applied the Peel Stop and the new popcorn was cracking afterwards. Well worth having around to solve problems where a coating comes off partially and then the rest is difficult to remove (which always seems to be the case).

Nice base coat.
I used this on my deck outside. Dries really fast so can put on the next coat. Covers and helps fill in but don’t like the color when it dries.

Perfect!
This stuff is great! I love doing projects, but I despise sanding and stripping paint. I wasn’t sure this would work due to mixed reviews. I coated this swing with this paint about four times. The paint is sheer, I would only use this as a primer. The thickness seemed like typical paint to me. For my project it did fill some of the smaller holes and dents on this swing, but for deeper gauges it didn’t fill them at all. Nothing a little wood filler couldn’t help. This worked perfectly for the peeling paint though! I was skeptical, but it made this very smooth! If you’re looking for something that will make it “perfect” this isn’t it, but for something that will stop peeling it is fabulous! Once a top coat of paint is added you can’t even tell that it ever had peeling paint underneath it. This is going to be a go to for future projects.

Do NOT Buy Zinsser Peel Stop Triple Thick High Build Binding Primer!
I had high hopes for the Zinsser Peel Stop Triple Thick High Build Binding Primer, but unfortunately, it did not work at all. I followed the directions carefully, making sure the surface was clean and dry, yet the primer failed to do what it promised. Instead of sealing and binding the peeling areas, it left an uneven finish that didn’t stop further flaking or peeling. The coverage was disappointing, and after everything dried, the surface still felt weak and unstable. I ended up wasting both time and money, since I’ll have to redo the project with a different product. For something marketed as a “triple thick” solution, it certainly didn’t live up to the name. Overall, this was a frustrating experience, and I cannot recommend this primer to anyone who needs a reliable product for stopping peeling paint. Would you like me to make this review more formal and detailed (similar to what you’d post on Home Depot or Lowe’s), or keep it concise and to the point (like an Amazon review)?

Great for fixing moldy paint cracked bathroom ceiling.
Had some paint flaking and the beginnings of mold on a bathroom ceiling and this product was recommended. It’s been up for over and year and I’ve had no issues at all. I’m definitely a DIY person and this job was easy to do. After sanding and scraping all the old paint off the ceiling I wiped all the dust down and gave a good solid coat of this. It dries clear and has a hard plastic feel like paint so I could tell it was durable. Primer and then paint and the ceiling will hopefully last another 30 years. Would recommend to anyone dealing with the classic bathroom ceiling issues. Also, reminding my kids to use fan while showering will likely help a lot too.

DOES NOT FILL IN
As others have pointed out, this primer looks thick in the can but does little to fill in the areas between leftover chipped paint on a wall. It may seal area the edges of chipped paint areas, but it definitely does not act as mud or spackle - not even with 3 coats. Zinsser needs to be more truthful about its capabilities.

Works like its description
This does the job and helps prevent peeling paints from peeling more

I recommend this Zinsser sealer.
I found this product to be amazing. After trying twice to sand and seal a peeling bathroom ceiling (with other sealers) only to have it fail both times, I ordered this product and it has worked. I once again scraped/sanded the whole ceiling and gave it two coats of this Zinsser product and painted with ceiling paint. If this hadn't worked, I was going to replace the actual ceiling plaster board. I understand other reviewers concerns regarding the colour but this is only a sealer - not a paint. It is a very watery white colour and you will need to paint with your final paint colour. I cannot praise this product enough.

Does the trick
I had alot of peeling paint, after removing the easily removable stuff. I did two coats and it was also just thick enough that it wasn't noticeable where paint levels were lower. It is a little expensive but it will save you alot of prep having to sand everything back. Would recommend this product.
