This is the best portable laptop screen that I have purchased, and I've had a few. The connection is always reliable, and it stores easily along with my laptop. It is easy to remove if I don't want to take it with me, but very sturdy when connected. Even though small, the colors and brightness are good.

I've been using mine for a little over a year now, and overall, I'm very impressed. The thunderbolt cable that came with it lasted only a couple of weeks, which was frustrating at first. I initially thought my Surface 3 wouldn't support the USB-C to USB-C connection, but after purchasing a new cable from Cable Matters (40Gbps, 2.6ft, 240W USB-C), everything has worked flawlessly. Over a year of consistent use later, I haven't encountered any issues. As someone who travels frequently for work, my laptop and this screen are my most important tools. I also bought the SideTrak sleeve for added protection, but most of the time, it rides on the back of my travel backpack, shoved under airplane seats week after week. Despite putting it through the wringer, it keeps performing like a champ. The durability has truly exceeded my expectations. The magnets and metal plates are another highlight. They're incredibly strong and reliable. I put one plate on both sides of my laptop at first, but ended up using just the left side. I was initially worried about potential interference with my laptop screen, but I’ve had zero issues. The monitor has been attached 24/7 for over a year. Compared to other travel monitors I’ve tried, this is the 'chosen one'. Previous models were bulky, heavy, and cumbersome to set up. I used to think a battery-powered monitor was essential, but in reality, I’m usually near an outlet for extended work sessions. I can’t speak much about battery drain on my laptop, but it hasn’t been a concern for me. What really stands out is how lightweight and easy it is to set up. Within four simple steps—turn, swivel, and connect the USB-C ports—I’m ready to go. If I keep the cable plugged in, then it's only 2 moves. IT nerds everywhere envy this setup whenever they see it in action. Knock on wood, but after a year of frequent, rough use, this monitor continues to impress me with its durability and functionality. I’m glad I made the investment!

Another Update!: Has stopped working completely. Sounds like this is a common problem looking at how many other 1-star ratings they have that say the same thing! Backlight shows when USB-C (power cable only it seems) is plugged in, but nothing happens when the included HDMI-to-mini-HDMI cable is plugged into any source. Have tried two separate computers, both with history of working with this and other external monitors, and Android tablet, to no avail. Called customer service line and got voicemail after many rings, saying they are receiving a high number of calls. I wonder why! Sent email as customer service has suggested. No response in 48 hours via email. UPDATE: Change to 3 Stars! :After installing and finding out the issue with the cables, I looked for an alternate product before returning. There are none that have the build quality. So I have decided to keep it. It is still inconvenient that this requires BOTH my Gen 1 USB-C port to power, and the HDMI port to view. But it is more solidly attached and stays in place (and is more flexible on viewing angles) than anything else I have found. Original: Only after it arrived and I opened the manual did I find out why this was not working just like my last screen. This does not work with any other USB-C port except the absolute most recent version, USB-C 3.1 Gen 2! My previous extended screen (Duex Plus by Mobile Pixels) worked just fine with my USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 port. Unfortunately the construction on that unit is a bit flimsier and I broke an important part very shortly after starting to use. This looked like (and still feels like) a more robust design. BUT it requires the use of BOTH the USB-C port and the HDMI port to operate with my newer (less than a year) Windows 11 laptop (because as was FALSELY ADVERTISED, the HDMI port cannot generate power for the unit. It requires both ports to work. SO sending it back. And pissed about the waste of time and resources that would have been skipped if the manufacturer/reseller would have just been honest in the advertising.

This worked great for me to use in travel situations but it was not sturdy enough for every day use. The USBC cord it comes with broke apart after a while and now the USBC port is not accepting new cords so the screen won’t turn on. Have to purchase a new one.

Excellent quality, multiple uses, plug & play... lighter than others too.

Sleek easy to use

I purchased the 14" Swivel in August 2022, not knowing what to expect really and I must say it's the best money I've ever spent. The utility it provides is priceless.

The screen is handy but too small, it doesn’t really help all that much.

Update: I ended up talking to their customer service directly, and they sent me replacement magnets and adhesives free of charge. Since then I have had absolutely zero issues. And I use these constantly, removing it from my laptop and moving it around with absolutely no problem with the adhesive. I absolutely adore this screen. I have given so many demonstrations of it to strangers who approach me to ask - I often joke that I should be making a commission at this point! After using this for quite some time, I recently had to replace the cord. Unfortunately I could find any replacements sold by Side Trak that ship to Canada, so I went 3rd party. But after years of rough use, I am happy that that has been the only replacement needed! This screen has been incredibly useful for schoola don't research on the go. I recommend it to literally everyone. I actually feel awful that I forgot to update my 1 star review for so long, but I hope people find my update to be useful. Original review (1 star): The screen has literally fallen off about 5 times. I missed the return window because I kept thinking maybe if I bought better adhesive for it than what it came with it would work. Nope, still doesn't work. I have used the spare metal plate it came with, replaced the adhesive tape twice (after thoroughly cleaning both the laptop and the metal plate with acetone and letting them dry). I just attached the screen last night with heavy duty 3m metal adhesive, about 24 hours later it has fallen off. I haven't been removing the screen from the metal plate, I haven't even travelled with it since yesterday. Sure the screen looks great. It's not functional. It will NOT stay attached to your laptop. Don't miss the return window like I did.

The portable screen works perfectly. Very easy to install and the quality of the picture is great. Highly recommend
