BRUTE Trash Can, Yellow, 44-Gallon

This Rubbermaid BRUTE trash can is built like a tank and definitely lives up to its heavy-duty reputation. The material feels thick and durable, and it handles outdoor use, construction debris, yard waste, and everyday commercial cleanup without cracking or warping. The reinforced handles make it much easier to carry, even when full. The bright yellow color is also great for visibility in garages, job sites, restaurants, or warehouses. It’s easy to clean, doesn’t absorb odors easily, and works well with standard trash bags. You can tell this is made for long-term use compared to cheaper cans. Pros: ✔️ Extremely durable heavy-duty construction ✔️ Reinforced handles for easier lifting ✔️ Great for indoor or outdoor use ✔️ Bright color is easy to spot ✔️ Easy to clean and maintain Cons: ❌ Lid usually sold separately ❌ More expensive than basic trash cans Overall, this is a high-quality commercial-grade trash can that’s dependable, sturdy, and worth the investment if you need something that can handle serious use!

This baby is tough! I sling used auto parts and other heavy items inside it and drag it over concrete to the main dumpster without issue.

Perfect size for my needs and keeps dog and cats out of the can.

Very sturdy. I purchased the can that is about 2 foot high. Can hold a 13-15 gal garbage bag. We use this for our outdoor patio

Rubbermaid BRUTE 44-Gallon Gray Trash Container - The Workhorse of Waste Management The Rubbermaid BRUTE 44-gallon gray trash container is a staple in commercial environments for good reason: it's a durable, reliable, and cost-effective workhorse that can handle a beating. Designed to withstand the rigors of daily use in demanding settings, this container is a popular choice for landscapers, construction crews, restaurants, warehouses, and more. Pros: Exceptional Durability: This is the BRUTE's biggest selling point. Made from high-quality polyethylene, it's resistant to dents, punctures, and cracks. It can withstand heavy loads, rough handling, and even exposure to harsh weather conditions (though direct sunlight over prolonged periods can still cause some fading). You can throw just about anything in it without worrying about immediate damage. Heavy-Duty Construction: The reinforced rim and base add extra strength and stability, preventing warping or collapse even when the container is full or being moved around. This is particularly crucial in construction sites or landscaping where accidental bumps and scrapes are common. Large Capacity: The 44-gallon capacity is generous enough to handle significant volumes of waste, reducing the frequency of emptying. This translates to time savings and increased efficiency for busy work environments. Easy to Clean: The smooth, seamless interior is easy to hose down and clean, preventing the buildup of grime and odors. This is particularly important for restaurant back-of-house areas. Stackable Design: The tapered design allows for easy stacking when not in use, saving valuable storage space. Affordable Price: Compared to some specialized waste management solutions, the BRUTE offers excellent value for its durability and capacity. Versatile: The gray color is understated and blends in well in most environments. It's a neutral choice for various settings. Compatible with Accessories: It's designed to work with a variety of accessories, such as tight-fitting lids (sold separately) to contain odors and keep pests out and dollies for easy transportation, especially when full. Cons: Lid Sold Separately: The biggest drawback is that the lid is not included. This is a significant omission and adds to the overall cost. A lid is often essential for odor control, pest prevention, and weather protection. Can be difficult to maneuver when full: While the 44-gallon capacity is great, a full container can be quite heavy and difficult to lift and move, especially on uneven terrain. Investing in a dolly is highly recommended for frequent emptying. UV Degradation (Over Time): While durable, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can eventually cause some fading and potentially slight degradation of the plastic. Basic Design: It's a functional container, not a stylish one. If aesthetics are a primary concern, this might not be the ideal choice. Who is it for? Landscapers: Ideal for collecting yard waste, debris, and other materials on-site. Construction Sites: Withstands the rigors of construction debris and is a durable option on job sites. Restaurants (Back of House): Suitable for collecting food waste and general trash in busy kitchen environments. Offices: A good option for larger offices or break rooms that generate a significant amount of waste. Warehouses: Handles packaging materials, scrap, and other industrial waste. Commercial Environments: A general-purpose container for any business that needs a reliable and durable waste management solution. Overall: The Rubbermaid BRUTE 44-gallon gray trash container is a solid investment for anyone needing a durable, reliable, and high-capacity waste management solution. While the lack of an included lid is a definite drawback, its overall durability, ease of cleaning, and affordable price make it a worthwhile purchase. It's a true workhorse that will stand up to the demands of tough commercial environments. Just be sure to factor in the cost of a lid and a dolly (if needed) when budgeting for this product. Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars. (Deduction for the missing lid)

This Rubbermaid 20 gal heavy-duty Brute barrel arrived in a box that was too small. The seller had squashed the top diameter (which is bigger than the base diameter) into a serious oval to make it ‘fit.’ Because it’s serving as a garbage can in my garage, I also bought the 20 gal Brute lid separately. Fortunately, I was able to coax the barrel’s top back into a circle to make the lid fit snuggly upon arrival. At first, the barrel’s ovalness was so powerful — it kept popping the ‘snapped-on’ lid off! I was concerned. But 24 hours later, the barrel’s shape has been restored to normal. It’s testimony to the resilience of the Brute line. I expect many years of performance from the barrel and lid. BTW, I’d kept a 10 gal or so Rubbermaid barrel in my garage for decades. Over time, between cleaning our cars, yard and garden stick and weed debris, HEPA vacuum dirt dumps, gutter cleaning muck, and oily disposable roaster pans and fish and seafood scraps (just get it out of the house!), the 10 gal was proving too small. This new 20 gal is obviously twice as big, yet small enough that I can drag it behind me when I do yard and garden work more easily than my full-sized barrels. Too, it takes my contractor-sized heavy-duty (3 mil thick) trash bags that I use for my full-sized barrels.

The only reason why I’m giving this five stars is because it is super cute and made with really good materials. However, I was tricked. I thought I was buying a rather large one. Lol
