Taller is better
I love this meditation bench. It's very sturdy, strong hinges that stay in place, functional for great relaxed but appropriate posture ( slant is pronounced, but feels good to me ) and it's beautiful! I'm 5' 6" but this tall bench feels better than the smaller ones for me.

Unstable on carpet, better for taller people
When placed on tile, it stands up by itself. On carpet it tends to fall over (just placed there by itself) unless I put felt pads on the front of the legs: perhaps the slope is too great. And, at 5 ft.2 inches I do feel like I slide downhill to the front on it too much, but it works for my 6 ft 2 inch husband. It helped to put a non slip rubber undermat on it, cover with some padding we had and then a nice hand towel, which I safety pinned together underneath. Otherwise, it is solid and attractive construction. My favorite part of it is some nifty sunken magnetic catches that help stabilize the legs: wish they were on a smaller bench I got for myself.

Works well
The bench is sturdy and portable. Great for prayer, meditation and yoga.

So small
Pictures seemed like it was a lot larger than it was. I’m a little too heavy to meditate or sit on this. More likely for my daughter to utilize.

Tall, yes, but poor finishes otherwise at a premium price
It is the only tall meditation bench i could find, and hence for that alone the 4 stars. It also seems sturdy (I am average at 178lbs and 5’11”) But the edges are so sharp that it is uncomfortable to sit on it for too long when the front edges sink in. And it doesnt come with a cushion. All this at a price point that is higher than other/better benches. I had another bench which was also bamboo but was curved and smooth at the edges and 20% cheaper!, but unfortunately had to exchange for this one just for the increased height!

For tall long legged people
legs are 7.5" at the tallest point. I'm 6' and this is the only bench that feels comfortable for long sits.

Bench broke on first use
The bench is well made with strong brackets, but bamboo wood is simply not strong enough to hold a big person. The "lip" along the back of the bench that is not supported by the legs broke off. Granted I am 6'3" 220 lbs, however, the bench is supposed to be strong enough to take up to 350 lbs. I am very disappointed. I decided to keep it because the way it broke left a fully functional (narrower) bench after some sanding to eliminate splinters. It's still useful. I'll include a photo to show how it broke.

Poor quality finish, tips over easily
The finish on this is thin and has bubbles. It’s also not sanded well on the edges so it feels unpleasant to grip them with your hands to shift things around when you’re sitting. Speaking of sitting, the bottom of the legs are super slippery so it’s not very stable. I ended up getting a bench from Zen Mountain’s monastery store and it’s much better.
