I had a problem with the cat litter. Yeah, this sounds weird for a lamp purchase, but it's not a joke. The cats had trouble seeing the litter box in the dark and they would occasionally miss the box. It's located at the base of a stairway in a dark, enclosed area that gets no light at all, even in the daytime. I tried a night light, but the bulbs burned out frequently. LED night lights weren't bright enough. So, I searched for something that would light up the area and allow the cats to be more comfortable when using the litter box. This product caught my eye for several reasons. It has the right amount of brightness; it has the low (5 W) power consumption; it has the right mounting plate (for a wall); and it is supposed to have a very long product life (time will tell). I am so impressed with this product and its price that I plan to get more of them and use them elsewhere around the house, the barn and the garage. I recommend this product for anyone who needs more than just a night light to illuminate an area. The one thing to remember is that this light does not have a switch. As soon as you plug it in, it turns ON. If you want a sensor or timer for this light, you have to get them separately. This light is designed for areas that are constantly dark.

This spotlight works well and was easy to install. It swivels up, down and to either side for directional adjustment. At only 5 watts, it is brighter than I expected. We use it on a timer for lighting our entryway at night. The cord is only about 3 ft. so you'll probably need an extension cord....and a way to switch it on/off. The painted aluminum housing should hold up pretty well, but note that although the light is described as "indoor-outdoor," it is not fully waterproof, although some customers are using it for garden or landscape lighting. The manufacturer states that: "For long periods of outdoor use, we recommend: put a clear plastic cover the light and secured it with a rubber band to take care of the water intrusion problem." That's quite a disclaimer! However, if you install it in a sheltered location such as under an overhang, you should be fine.

Works great so far. Love that I can mount this on a wood post to shine on our fountain and the right angle.

PROS ~ It is what it says it is -- a LANDSCAPE light -- for use with lighting upwards at distance ~ The light produced is very bright ~ Using LEDs, it is energy efficient ~ It is very affordable - The cord is very solid and clearly designed for outdoor use (indoor being fine as well of course) CONS (really only valid if you are trying to use it as OTHER than a landscape light -- which I am) ~ No switch -- it must go through some intermediary system if you want to turn it on or off, or you need to unplug it ~ The cord is very short NOTES on USE for OTHER than intended purposes -- such as illuminating art indoors The closer it is to what it is lighting, the brighter and whiter the illumination (of course). In landscape lighting, this isn't really a problem. But if you are using it NOT for its intended purpose but instead to illuminate art indoors, it can be too bright depending on what you are lighting, how far away it is from your piece, etc. I have mine very close. So I have used a light pink gel (a sort of colored translucent sheet, usually used in theater or film lighting) cut to fit the top of my bulb, to soften the lighting of my canvas. If I wanted to be able to turn off my light, as mentioned I would need to get some intermediary on/off switch. Fortunately for me, I want the light on 24/7 as it illuminates the darkest part of my home, dark even during the day, and also then acts as a beautiful sort of night light, too.

Update, Jan 1st 2026. Using duck tape as a sealant, they work fantastic pointing down. Got a replacement and the other original and the other replacement are both working great. Just make sure you calk or tape the seals if your going to be pointing the unit sideways or down. Ordered 2 units 1 months ago. Initially was impressed. The metal housing felt very nice and the color was a nice warm color. However One of the two I have ordered now has a half dead lighting element and lots of moisture on the inside of the lens. It barely shines at all now. I'm praying the other doesn't give up too. These are mounted pointing DOWN off the side of the house. I tried putting cauk in the hole around the outlet for the cord, however it appears even that do not stop the rain from getting in. These are not waterproof, they may be okay pointing up, but they are absolutely terrible for pointing down as a spotlight onto something. Either be sure to waterproof them extensively, or get a unit it doesn't have a big gap where the cord goes into the unit. If using an indoor, or non rain exposed environment , I'm sure these could last a long time, just for my personal experience it looks like moisture might kill them first when completely outside with rain.

Inexpensive small flood that did a great job. I live in north Texas and needed a small spot for my nativity display. This was perfect. It was not overpowering and cast the perfect amount of light. Plug it in, push the spike into the ground... and you have light. I also like the shadow it produced on our home as well. FYI - it probably rained 6 or 7 times during the season and never once did I have a problem. Highly recommend.

This LED light is perfect for hooking up to my Christmas lights for outdoor use. I like how you don't have to use the stake that comes with it so you can place it on level ground if needed.
