Put the lock in the current or default combination press the button to the left, the enter a new combination then release. Very simple and easy

No but the bamboo cuts down smell. But if ya buy those small activated charcoal scent bags,then put in the slot of inside lid. Works great! Plus ya don't have to worry about losing this function. Just change out over time. Those are cheap too
