Kennebec Seed Potatoes, 5 lbs. (Certified)

Update: the potato sets grew very well, even though we had some record setting Heat. The 5 pounds of set potato, were cut unto pieces and planted, the yield was about 75 pounds of potatos. Which are very tastey, good potatoes. I would highly recommend buying "Set Potatoes " from this seller!!! The first shipment was lost in transit, the seller promptly send another order of seed potatoes. The potatoes are planted and doing very well. Good seed potatoes and an excellent seller. I would recommend buying from them.

While this is not my first go with potatoes I must say this is by far the worst seed set I have ever purchased. The potatoes were shipped well, in dirt, completely dark but they had no sprouts and did not sprout after being exposed to sunlight or even with a little help from an onion. One of them looked like it had a burn mark on it, as if it was a baked potato that fell on a heating element. You are better off going with grocery store potatoes than using these.

Potatoes came bagged and no eyes yet. All viable and firm, no rot. Left them in the bag, placed in cool dark basement and eyes budded and are ready to plant now 1 month later.

You should never expect 100% greatness with seeds, so... In the 5 pounds I received, 22% had rottenness in them, though it could not always be immediately noticed until they were handled. Also, they were mailed in a plastic padded envelope w/o any bedding medium - just potatoes. I'll give them a few more days to see if any more rottenness develops, but there will probably be enough left for the garden. Good thing I ordered so much.

These seed potatoes were my first try in growing this vegetable and l was very careful to follow the planting directions to the last dot. Unfortunately, none of them came up and when l contacted the seller a new order was shipped out right away. The replacements are growing very nicely and l highly recommend this company. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! l'll definitely use them again.

These potatoes were delivered with no sprouts. Normally I do not plant until sprouts are clearly visible to get the best reasons and to not cut pieces too small to reproduce. I've placed them in a black bag and in a dark spot and hope that the area I have prepared for planting doesn't resprout weeds before I am able to get to the planting. I had fully expected that these were going to be immediately plannable when they got here. I guess you could but you will reduce your crop. If I get really good results on these potatoes, once they have grown I will rethink this review. Otherwise, the review is very fair

What can I say, I put them in the ground, covered them, forgot about them, and it looks like the success rate is very high, I will buy again from this company.

These came with no seed eyes so I put them in a brown paper bag in a cool place to sprout and after a few weeks still no seed eyes and now they are beginning to rot. The time to plant in the greater Phoenix Az area started mid Sept so I have lost weeks. They arent returnable and can't find where to contact the seller
