Question 1

I'm debating on the 14 cup or the 11 cup. Is there really a big diff. I see the 11 has 3 slicers & the 14 has 2 & the 11 has the flat lid

Hi Deanna, The flat lid is everything.  I love it and use it most of the time.  I have not found any problems with the 11 cup.  I do bake grain - free so not sure if the gluten dough would make a difference.  I make one recipe and sometimes double it and it's always fine for me.  I'm not sure how big your family is and how many portions you need to make. Are you saying the 14 cup does not come with the flat top. Well that would make my decision right there.  I love the flat top and would not give it up at all.  This food processor will not disappoint you at all.  Every day I'm happy I made the decision to buy mine.  Could not be more happy. I hope this helps you make your decision. Also, I keep the flat top on it all the time so it saves height space on my counter and looks sharper, cleaner and better.  I put the other top on when I need it. I also like the paddle buttons.  I was not sure if I was going to like them and it turns out that I really like them.

Is this BPA free?

Hi !! on page 3 of the cuisinart instruction and recipe book it says towards the bottom at number 11 of what the machine includes, " BPA free, all materials that come in contact with food or liquid are BPA free.  That was also very important for me so I made sure it was.  I am so happy with this food processor and it looks great on my counter.  It also comes with a compact cover with cap for chopping and baking. Not all food processor's that I saw came with a compact top. I do mostly baking so I leave this top on most of the time and it sits low on my counter.  When you have the cover with the large feed tube on for slicing and dicing,  which some come with only, it sits higher and seems like it takes up too much room when not using it.  I hope this helps you.  I couldn't be happier with this well made product.

Does the plastic pusher have the small hole in it like the old version of this machine? I want to make mayo with this!

Has anyone tried to use the detachable stem with the shredding blades?  Mine is too tall.

You most likely havent inserted it correctly. There is a diagram etched into the blade showing correct orientation.
