A Little Complicated, But Terrific
***UPDATE: After almost a year of use, I like this machine more and more. No, I wouldn’t sell it back now, for the original purchase price. If you offered me twice the original price, I would just get another, and a lot of coffee to brew in it.*** —- First, this was marked, “Used - Like New.” It had all the parts and manuals, the plastic was still on the screen, and it had obviously never been used. Very pleased. Second, this takes a little getting used to, but it’s worth it, and the coffee and espresso are really good. (I’m no expert.) I would suggest watching lots of YouTube videos, specifically about the Dinamica Plus, especially from DeLonghi and from Tom’s Coffee Corner.. I would suggest starting with a freshly-roasted medium roast coffee. I tried a nice light-roast to begin with, and it was not as good to start with as a medium roast. There is a hot water option that is great for making tea. Cleaning is simple, and's the machine will remind you. The machine and the color screen are attractive, which is a plus if it lives in your counter. Third, the Connected version incorporates a Bluetooth-connected app. It adds a lot of functionality to the machine, including the ability to customize drinks and User profiles. The app itself is good, not great, but I would certainly opt for the Connected version again, if I were buying it again. There are not many videos about the app, but a little effort will be worth it. The Bluetooth connection even allows you to wake up the machine from the next room and remotely start to brew a drink. That’s more fun than useful, but, hey, it’s fun. I needed to call DeLonghi tech support to get my iPhone connected to the machine, and they were pleasant to work with. My wife’s iPhone connected immediately. I’m a sucker for milk/coffee drinks, and the Dinamica makes nice frothed milk. Suggestion: if you are going to use chocolate syrup, try pouring it in the empty cup, and choosing Cappuccino Mix, which pours the espresso first. It can mix the syrup and the coffee flavors before the machine adds the foamed milk. Personal opinion: I prefer the Long to the Coffee; they’re very similar drinks, but the Long has a smoother coffee flavor. Summary: I am extremely pleased with this purchase. My wife looks at me like, “That’s nice, dear.”

Great unit, and nice looking in my kitchen.
Italian made, and almost as good as a cup from Rome. You get what you pay for. They gave me a small piece that I wasn't happy with easily. Good company.

Do not buy this machine
The machine is ok- coffee consistency varies. We make 6 cappuccinos a day and taste varies cup to cup. We always use the same Lavazza beans- The manual says it needs to be descaled every 2-3 months we have to do ours every 2-3 weeks. this is both time consuming and costly- sent it back for a factory clean- still needs to be done every 2-3 weeks. They tell me its because I am making milk drinks. Its a cappuccino machine. One rep said they would send me a label to send it back to be checked- never received it, I had to contact them again only to be told after 30 mins that they will not look at it- its because I make to many milk drinks. Then they never replied to my email. Horrible customer service. Do not buy unless you want to decale this every 60 cappuccinos (2 a day is monthly) a bottle of descaler is $20 and you get 5 cleanings- takes 20-30 mins Buy a different machine

Want easy, excellent espresso? Great machine.
After a lot of reading and testing, we bought the De'Longhi Dinamica Plus Connected Espresso & Coffee Machine with Automatic Milk Frother. You can certainly spend more on an automatic espresso machine that some aficionado claims makes a better extraction by pulsing. You can spend more because you prefer the aesthetics of another design. However, the range of customizations available on this machine and the excellent resulting espresso selections made to our specifications persuaded us that our range of preferences is well covered. The automatic frother is easy to clean and maintain. The machine rinses itself programmatically. The selections and modifications are easy to understand. You can make your own recipes via Bluetooth connection while sitting on your sofa. The color display is attractive and easy to use. It has a compact width on the counter. Great machine, not inexpensive but not overpriced.

Quality cup of coffee in under 5 minutes
Update 1/20: Updating to 5 stars. Customer service was professional and courteous. Ordered and shipped a new water tank same day, gave me reference and tracking numbers, and the replacement part arrived roughly 1 week later. Machine works great now and is the quickest way I've found to get quality coffee injected into my bloodstream in less than 5 minutes after waking up. Just make sure to inspect the tank, as that exposed plastic part can break easily if not handled with care. --- Original Review: Dead on Arrival Inspect all the parts as soon as you get your delivery. There's a plastic lip on the back of my water tank that came broken in half. This piece slots into an opening where the tank sits in the machine in order to register that the tank is inserted and ready to use. Because it's missing half of this piece, the machine doesn't recognize when the tank is inserted and will keep giving you an error message. I've only been able to bypass this by physically pressing and holding the entire tank firmly down. If I lift pressure off even slightly, error message and machine won't work. Contacting customer support for warranty / replacement, will update review after.

There is a difference, get the Plus it is worth it, but be prepared to microwave your drinks
I've tested a few of the automatic coffee makers, including the Jura and the De'Longhi, including both the De'Longhi Dinamica and their Dinamica Plus. What is confusing is that Amazon groups BOTH the regular Dinamica and the Plus together in the same product page, so the reviews are mixed together. Make sure you read the review for the unit you are interested in as there are some big differences between the two. The main difference is the price, which is usually about a $400 difference in price between the regular Dinamica and the Plus. In my opinion the Plus is worth the extra cash, and you'll be happy you spent the money as you use the machine often. The UI of the regular Dinamica is just horrible and confusing and it requires teaching each family member the oddities of it. In addition, figuring out the milk-to-coffee ratio for programming your own drinks is a guessing game in the regular Dinamica as there is no display of what is happening and you just have to press the "stop" button when you think it is correct. The Plus adds a touchscreen that visually shows you the drinks as well as an on screen display of the milk-to-coffee ratio so you can figure out what works for you. In addition, you get the ability to connect the smartphone app. The app is just alright, and VERY slow to connect to the machine. By the time it connects, I've already given up and made my drink through the touch screen. In addition with the Plus model, the milk canister that comes with this version is thicker plastic than the regular version, which keeps the milk temperature colder for longer periods when left out and connected to the machine. It is a nice upgrade, but for the plus version, I would really prefer it to be glass. I mentioned that I've also tested a Jura, which is usually regarded as the top of the line automatic espresso machine. The Jura S8 is 2x the price and I was curious if the taste was 2x as better. In the end, the taste was about the same, but the cleaning process of the Jura was a huge pain. The De'Longhi has the easiest cleaning process of all the automatic espresso machines I've seen. That to me, makes this a huge advantage over the rest. Really, the only negative I have to say about the De'Longhi Dinamica and the Plus is the milk DOES NOT GET HOT. I've talked with their support team and this is apparently just the way it is. Their solution was to pre-warm the glass, but no solutions as to getting actual hot steamed milk. If you drink milk based coffee drinks (Latte, Flat White, Cappuccino, etc) you should be prepared to microwave your drink for about 30 seconds after making it. To make sure it wasn't just my unit, I tested two Plus and one Regular Dinamica and all produce the same (not hot) temperature of milk. Is this annoying, yes, but is it a deal-breaker, no. I can deal with having to nuke my drink each time for the sake of having an easy to use and easy to clean automatic espresso machine. Simple conclusion: Get the Plus, enjoy easy to use espresso machine with easy cleaning, but be aware you'll have to nuke your milk-based coffee drinks to get them warm.

Like having a cyber barista at home
I've had the ECAM35075SI Dinamica for over 6 weeks now and absolutely love it. The setup and instructions were quite easy in my opinion. The drinks are delicious and as good as my local specialty coffee shop. I make mostly espresso/milk drinks - cappuccinos, macchiatos, and lattes, as well as the Truebrew iced coffee drink (a must in Arizona!). I make 2-4 drinks per day for my wife and me. The drinks are small - 8-9mg of coffee grounds per drink (which makes a 5oz macchiato/cappuccino or 10oz latte). This may be too small for people who are used to 12-18oz drinks, but these small-size drinks have 60-70mg of caffeine per drink so I can do up to thee drinks a day without overdoing the caffeine. Cleaning routine is easy, parts disassemble easily and are easy to clean. I use the water filter that came with the machine and got the first "descale" notice this morning (probably after ~100 drinks, numerous rinse cycles, and 6 weeks of continuous use). I have used Lavazza Super Crema med-light roast and Lavazza Top Class medium roast espresso beans and like them both. Also, I highly recommend double-wall glass espresso mugs (I got the JoyJolt on Amazon). The small size (5.4oz) is the absolute perfect size for the machine's cappuccinos and macchiatos. Being able to see the beautiful coffee-latte layers just like you see in the photos makes the presentation so nice. Get the larger 13.5oz size for lattes and long coffees. This machine has truly been one of my most favorite things I've ever gotten. I'm all about reducing consumerism, simplifying, and not acquiring more and more "stuff" - but I do not regret this purchase.

Great machine! Amazing lattes every morning!
What more can I say, I love this machine! My wife and I would regularly stop by our local coffee shop and were spending a ton on coffee but since we've owned this, just over a year now I think we've gone their maybe twice. This machine makes amazing lattes and is well built. I love the options for different drinks along with hot water for tea. It does notify us for both descaling AND changing the water filter a lot more than expected since we only use Brita filtered water but I'm not going to knock it for that. Still 5 BIG stars! Great machine!

Great Machine!
The Dynamica Plus super-automatic espresso machine is excellent, and I’m very satisfied with my purchase. Tip: I primarily make cappuccinos and have found it helpful to preheat my coffee mug with hot water in the microwave to ensure the drink stays hot. I upgraded from a J___ S8, and while I miss the steam wand, the espresso quality from the Dynamica Plus is impressive. The milk frothing mechanism is also highly effective and easy to use. One standout feature of the Dynamica Plus is the removable brew infuser, which makes cleaning much more convenient—a feature that wasn’t available with the J___. My only regret is not purchasing it during the recent sale when it was priced at $1,299.

Exceeded expectations
All you need is a little patience and this machine will satisfy your coffee cravings, easy to set up, just remember before turning it on take care of the water process, to get the ideal reading of the hardest or softness of your water, use the filter as directed. Fill to maximum so that for the first time to power your machine, it will heat and do an initial rinse. This power on of heating and rinsing happens every time you power it on and off. Select a bean that suits your taste, the strength of coffee can be adjusted, but keep in mind that the ground setting is paramount to experiment with. Trails and testing every morning is all the fun if you haven't done every sort of coffee available. I suggest double wall cups for different coffees. You'll find sets or individual pairs anywhere, deals here on Amazon are good value, and you may wish to add it to your cart as you order the machine. All in all, yes pricy, but to be honest it's the simplest and satisfying machine that my previous La Specialista manual coffee machine - both fantastic! DON'T FORGET TO REGISTER YOUR PRODUCT FOR ADDITIONAL YEAR WARRANTEE! E N J O Y - we are!!!

Hands down winner when race is between this and Philips superautos
Bought a Philips 5500 to replace a 15 year old automatic thinking it would be similar quality espresso shots. Not even close. Tried different settings and gave it time (several dozen shots) but the Philips still ended up yielding a poor quality, watery espresso. Returned the Philips and bought the delonghi dinamica plus. Night and day. Espresso has perfect crema and intensity right out of the box. Interface and build more svelte as well. Better customization of drinks. Worth the extra dollars. The Philips does have an easier-to-use/clean milk frother but foam quality not as good as delonghi.

Fantastic coffee maker
Threw away my Keurig after I got this. Makes great coffee, espresso, etc. All with the push of a button, it's that user friendly. The newer model is the "Dinamica Plus", and as far as I can tell, the difference is a touch screen as opposed to this model which has touch screen buttons.
