New Chapter, New Villains Although set within context of the events of Episode II and Episode III, the original story of Jedi Alliance allows for the emergence of a set of villains new to most Star Wars fans, the Nightsisters. Not new to the overall Star Wars universe, the Nightsisters have been alluded to in many of the past Star Wars novels and a few of the games, but Jedi Alliance gives fans and players alike their best view of them to date. The Nightsisters are a coven of 'Force witches' aligned with the Dark Side, but not owing allegiance to the Emperor. Legend has it that they were taught the ways of the Force in the ancient past by a renegade Jedi. An outcast and thus unhampered by the decisions of the Jedi council, this Jedi created an -like society which ruled its far away homeworld with an iron fist in isolation. Although their close contact with the Dark Side gives the Nightsisters an appearance very similar to the Sith, they are not part of the same sect. In fact, as the events of Jedi Alliance unravel, it becomes clear that although they are a danger to the Jedi they may pose just as much of a threat to the growing power if the Emperor.
