Boiron Arnicare Bruise Cream for Pain Relief from Bruising and Swelling or Discoloration from Injury - 1.4 oz

I bought this and the gel because I kept getting large bruises from hockey pucks during my hockey games. I put the gel on first and then this for extra potency and I am not going to lie I was shocked by how well this worked. My bruises (even old very prominent ones) were about 50-75% better after first applying. It really helps with discoloration and made me feel more comfortable wearing shorts again with large bruises on my legs. I kept applying for several days and the discoloration was nearly gone. The lump from the bruise was still there where I could feel it but all of the colors had faded. I highly recommend this for athletes or anyone looking to heal bruises quickly. I do prefer the gel only because it dries faster, but I do combine both when getting out of the shower whenever possible because I do think they work well together also after the gel dries. I feel i can rub the lotion in more than the gel

Now that I’ve had it for about 6 months and used it several times I feel I can give a decently informed review. Arnica has 3 marketed functions: alleviation of pain, discoloration, and swelling from bruises. Thus, I feel these functions need to be addressed separately. Pain - 4/5, noticeable decrease in pain next day after slathering cream on. Diminishing marginal returns with repeated use. Discoloration- 3/5 I can’t tell to be honest. Maybe? It won’t magically heal bruises overnight obviously. The “ugly” purple discoloration disappeared within a couple uses (over 1-2 days), but hard to say if that would’ve happened anyway. As with any normal bruise, it does stay at the light brown/green stage for a while, and the cream hasn’t shown much efficacy with speeding that process up. However, important to note that, at this stage, I felt very little pain when pressing on bruises treated with this cream compared to equivalent non treated bruises. Swelling- 5/5 this is the real value in my opinion. Not only have I noticed this working on bruises, but I like to put it under my eyes after a bad night of sleep and the puffiness goes down significantly within a couple hours. To be clear, it does not diminish hyperpigmentation, a different component of dark circles (you would need retinal or something similar for that) but the puffiness and swelling are reduced quickly and tremendously.

I would use it again for ankle recovery or any other minor bumps and bruises.

This product is absolutely fantastic. It cuts bruise time down to a minimum. I didn't believe it at first, but i am always carrying bruises from one thing or another. Rub a tiny amount on a few times and voila.. it is gone. Odorless, not sticky and no skin irritation. Will not be without this.

Kinda worked but not completely
