Still the best!
This is still the best chef's knife I own. The feel, weight, balance, durability, sharpness. I've gotten "better" more expensive knives, but this one always wins. I now have three of them. One is 15 years old! Zero rust, and sharpens like new.

This knife doesn't rust after one use... it's way better quality than that given it's price
This is a long-term review as I have owned this knife for more than 2 years (since July 2024). For as cheap as this knife is, it's really good quality. I bought this knife to practice learning how to hand sharpen kitchen knives because I was tired of crappy knife "sharpeners" that a lot of home cooks buy only to find that you have to constantly "sharpen" with them to have an edge sharp enough for a tomato skin. I have to say I treated this knife badly. I mean I intentionally dulled the edge repeatedly, I scuffed the sides of the knife on purpose to get a visual of the grit that each of my Shapton Kuromaku sharpening stones had. After I became proficient I decided to try and sharpen this knife as far as I could. I started with a 1000 grit, then worked my way through a 2000, 5000, and then ended with a 10,000 grit stone. The edge was a mirror that I could see my reflection in! Tomatoes cut themselves when I put the knife near them. I just had to point the edge at something and think about the cut I wanted and it was effortlessly done. The kind of steel the knife is made of is a high carbon stainless steel knife. That means it's really resistant to chipping and also to rust. The other reviewer who posted pictures of her knife after "1 use" cannot possibly be telling the entire truth. The steel wont rust from a single wash, but it will rust if you put it through a dishwasher. DON'T PUT KNIVES IN DISHWASHERS!!! It's dangerous and ruins the knife. The handle will warp, and the blade shape can be distorted too. Not to mention your edge will be obliterated and vegetables will laugh at you trying to use the knife afterwards. You should always hand wash a knife carefully. The handle on this knife is really good at maintaining grip when wet. Just wash the blade in a way that your hand naturally moves past the edge and not towards it. The edge on my knife lasts about a month of almost everyday usage before I need to touch it up, but I do hone it every time I use it with a honing rod. Honing rods do not sharpen a knife, the simply straighten the microscopic edge after it bends from being used. That is something that happens to all knives over time, but at different rates depending on how "soft" the type of metal is used in them. But that softness is what makes this knife a workhorse. It doesn't chip easily, instead that edge will bend, which is great since you don't want tiny shards of metal in your food. The things I don't like about this knife is the full bolster. That is also why I bought it. I wanted a knife that was a little more difficult to sharpen, and full bolsters get in the way the sharpening stone. If this knife hadn't won me over with it's resilience, I would most likely be using a knife with a half bolster, or no bolster at all. (FYI - the bolster is just the shape of the metal before it turns into the handle. In western knives it's used as a transition from thin metal blades and tapers to thicker width to match the handle.) That's it. That's my only gripe with this knife and it's also the same reason I bought it.

Great knife at good price
I didn’t realize how much we needed this knife until we got it. It’s much safer to use a sharp knife than the dull knife we’ve been using, it doesn’t slip. The quality is very good, feels good in the hand. It’s gone through several dishwasher cycles, and come out as new.

Value for the money
This is a surprisingly good knife for the money. Nice heft, sharp blade. Yes it needs honing more often than an a more expensive knife would, but a really solid all around Utility player. Discovered this in a beach house we rented and was pleasantly surprised

Inexpensive but not lacking
Excellent knife and worth far more in value than you pay. Feels great in hand but might be a little too large of handle for someone with smaller hands. Nice sharp edge out of the box and seems to hold an edge fairly well. Regularly hone the edge and have only resharpened it once since owning it. Great size for a general kitchen knife and would buy again.

Excelente!
