This game for whatever reason got a bad rap from the start
This game for whatever reason got a bad rap from the start. Its actually an amazingly well done game and I found it to be a time consuming fun game. If you don't like the jet pack aspect of the game then of course you are not going to like the game. Its actually a skilled aspect that people refuse to accept or work on for whatever reason. The game plays fast and its made for the COD rush style. The game definitely builds on what Black Ops 3 did. Its more Sci Fi based of course but continues with the wall running and jet pack aspect. Infinite warfare focuses more on the jet pack aspect with smaller maps to make it fast paced. The graphics are amazing and the input lag is definitely amongst the least with FPS multiplayer game modes. There are so many multiplayer game modes and Activision has done a nice job of creating events to keep the game as fresh as possible. I would give the game a try especially with the price drop. WWII will be released in a few months and I look forward to it. I just have a feeling Ill be still playing some Infinite Warfare once the boots to the ground aspect gets boring again.

Not sure what all the hate is about...
I don't understand what all the whining was about - I love this game. Granted, I'm not a Call of Duty purist - I'd dabbled before, but Black Ops 3 was the first COD game I bothered to finish. Infinite Warfare has a very Battlestar Galactica (the remake!) feel to it, as you defend Earth against an alliance of breakaway colonies who are tired of being exploited for Earth's economic gain. The Good: - The characters are fairly typical for this genre, but still interesting and engaging. - The gameplay is fun and runs at an exciting pace, with a variety of missions ranging from space dogfights, to ship incursions, colony rescues, zero g combat, and even assassination missions. - There are numerous weapons to try - some familiar, and some more futuristic. - The story isn't quite as compelling as Black Ops 3, but still (so far) keeps the player's interest. Could be better: - The flight controls are weird, and I haven't found a way to change them. They are also not listed anywhere, so you have to work it out from prompts, which are not always forthcoming. Still, it's better combat than Battlefront. Although I don't really like multiplayer, I agree with many of the media reviewers that not including the dogfights in the multiplayer is a missed opportunity. - Some kind of modification to the HUD so that your compatriots can be easily found would be helpful - I seem to have a habit of wandering off during missions... - Kit Harrington as the lead villain... unless he's playing Jon Snow, the man just has no presence or charisma... it was an uninspired piece of casting. Overall: Had I paid more than $20 for it, I may not have been as pleased with this game. Alternatively, I suspect that had it not been branded as a Call of Duty game, but rather a new franchise, others might not have been as displeased with it as they were. I'm only a few missions in, but so far, I'm having a blast. I'm sad that the franchise is apparently over and we will be drawn back into the well-worn territory of WWII games. This is an exciting and fresh take - give it a try!

I really liked this game
I really liked this game, much better than COD 3. COD 3 was pretty cool with the graphics, mission areas, and weapons. However, I didn't understand the story, it jumped everywhere. This game was great, it had a mix of everything. Again great graphics, types of missions, and weapons. I liked the mixture between ground and flying missions with a few mixed with both. Plus just like in COD 3, you have various side items (grenades, hacking robots, etc.) to use, I felt this game simplified using these items. Very user friendly to select what you want. I would recommend everyone trying it even though a few didn't like it.

4.5 Stars, Zombies love, Multiplayer hate/love, campaign whatever
I really didn't expect to like this game. I bought it and played it and thought, "oh there goes 30 bucks down the drain." It's difficult to level up, the game mechanics are more difficult, and you can go 1 for 10 easily on Multiplayer even if you were good (like I was at Black Ops 3). But just like that, you get a fury kill and you're back in the game. That's Multiplayer in a nutshell. That being said, I think it takes longer to level up which might be better because there's more to do. So many more weapons, common, rare, legendary, epic, with perks with each weapon allowing more customization. It's less likely to buy your way to greatness because of how random it feels to buy a rare crate vs a common one. Overall, it's frustrating, but that much more enjoyable when you get in the zone. It just feels like less humanistic and more robotic. No voices in taunting, no faces like Seraph or War Machine. Zombies is a whole other story. I've never really played zombies this much on other CODs. But this one I love the Space and 80's feel to it. And running it with people online can create those intense in-game emotions that can break friendships hahaha. But this is it's saving grace and I can only hope their new maps will be similar. I can see why people hate this game, but I can see why people will still play it. It's advanced warfare so get used to that and really think aboutwhat that entails. Campaign is pretty cool, story is ehhh, and the environments are beautiful. But once you play it, there's no need to play it again. Lots of problems, but still fun and I haven't played BO3 since I bought this game. BO3 just got repetitive so there are things to look forward to in this game. Should you buy it? Yes and no. I rented it at Redbox first and don't feel like I really understood what I was buying even after renting it for 3 days. You're gonna need time to get used to the weapons, play zombies, and figure out what characters and perks you like. So my opinion is that you should take a chance, rent it for a few days and if you like it after playing zombies once, multiplayer for a few rounds, then just buy it if it's under 36 bucks. Good luck haha. I do like Black Ops 3 better but it got old after prestiging every weapon, and hearing the same three taunts from some specialists.

Bottom line: It's a fun game
It's unfortunate the amount of hate the COD franchise is now getting because of these futuristic games they're putting out. I get where some of the haters are coming from in that they want the games to be realistic but the bottom line is this game is fun and it looks and plays flawless. I personally prefer the futuristic games as opposed to the modern warfares. Haters can hate on it all they want but it's not going to change the fact that it's a good game and will most likely get nearly 10/10 on IGN. Definitely worth the buy in my opinion.

What’s all the hate about?
First of all, I’d like to address the stereotype this game owns by many irrational, close minded call of duty gamers (specifically, the ones that haven’t played this game, or already biased towards the hype when played), “this game is trash, don’t buy it, waste of your money, worst call of duty game of all time”. I believe that population couldn't be any more wrong; Having played this game since it’s release date, and mostly every Call of Duty before and after, in my opinion, this game is one of my all time favorite from the Call of Duty franchise, highlighting an amazing campaign, and a very strategic and fun multiplayer mode. Call of Duty executed the futuristic warfare near perfectly on this game. Personally, I believe this game is better than Advanced Warfare in everything but zombies, and besides, this game is an absolute steal for $10! Give this game a shot, and if you don’t like it, then maybe it’s not for you.

Very disappointing compared to previous Black Ops III
I only played the Multiplayer mode (not the Story/Campaign mode) so I'm commenting on that aspect. I got hooked to COD Black Ops III (BO3) multiplayer (I still play it), and I was excited about this new release (IW). However, if there was one word I can use to describe this game in a nutshell, it's "depressing". Here are the differences which made the gaming experience depressing, compared to BO3: ~Sound/graphics~ IW: Drab, sad colors (light green, blue and gray) BO3: Vibrant colors (orange, black) IW: Gloomy, depressing lobby music, as if the world has been destroyed. BO3: Not necessarily upbeat or sad, but neutral. IW: You are one character and you put on different faceless suits. Everybody looks like a robot. BO3: You have 9 characters with only one robot among them. IW: Although it's not as violent as BO3, there isn't a way to censor blood/gore in the game. BO3: Censoring is available and appreciated as I play with my young children around. IW: Bullets and other sound effects are extremely loud in my headphones. I had to turn the volume down to 5 instead of the default 10. BO3: Not as loud. ~Gameplay~ IW: Hit-markers (signifies when your bullet has hit an enemy) are difficult to hear, and sound like an underwater drum. BO3: Clear, satisfying hit-markers. IW: Maps are maze-like and difficult to learn. BO3: Most if not all of the maps have 3 lanes with a high-traffic center zone, to accommodate for different play-styles. IW: No daily/weekly contracts, but random "team mission challenges" BO3: The daily/weekly contracts gave you goals to work for, had you playing different game modes, play-styles, and guns to add fun and variety to the gameplay. They also had a clear reward (10 or 30 cryptokeys) IW: Takes forever to earn keys and supply drops (3-4 hours for a rare supply drop) BO3: Takes a couple of hours gameplay to earn a rare supply drop, not combined with the daily/weekly contract rewards. IW: Time to kill enemy seems quite long. Although it depends on the weapon, for me it seemed like I needed 5-6 shots to kill an enemy with the NV4 assault rifle (the first one you start out with). BO3: Usually took 3-4 shots with the KN-44 (the first assault rifle you start with). IW: Lag compensation is off; makes it seem like you get killed by the enemy instantly. Then you see the kill-cam, and they had plenty of time to see and kill you, while in your view you had just seen them. BO3: Fights are fair. If there is lag, you may get killed but at least you will get a "connection interrupted" or a skip on your screen. ~Other issues~ IW: Difficult to know where enemies are, possibly due to players using the Ghost perk. IW: No combat record for me to see which guns I used had the highest kill/death ratio with (I played this in the first few weeks of release, so this feature was not available at that time). ~~~ The dealbreaker for me was the time-to-kill and lag issue. It way happened way too often, where I get killed upon seeing an enemy and saw that they had plenty of time to see and kill me. There were a few positives with IW, and that is showing that you got hit by multiple enemies in the kill-cam, getting rid of quick-scoping with sniper rifles, and automatic unlocking of items (instead of unlock tokens). It was addicting trying to unlock the different challenges, but ultimately the game wasn't fun and depressing for the reasons mentioned above. I did end up returning the game.

Multiplayer is just like all the other recent call of duty games but ...
Multiplayer is just like all the other recent call of duty games but I've gotta admit the new zombies setting is awesome! Very fun and vibrant feel (different from previous zombie games). Just wished it supported 4 player local instead of two though. Overall, great game just to kick back and relax with (compared to other games such as Battlefield) and worth it for $50!
