The product is as described. I used the 1-1/2" connection to connect two pool hoses together for a drainage line for my house sump pump. The connection was tight and secure. In that I was not using the connector for a swimming pool but rather a drainage hose connection I didn't use hose clamps.

Doesn't have a gasket, so it leaks a little
This item looks and works fine, except for one small flaw. The way it's made, there is a seam where the two half-tubes are put together. This, along with the fact that it doesn't have a gasket, means that it leaks a little water. I haven't found a way to stop the leaking yet, but I'm working on it.

Good quality - not cheap
I got a cheap one at Ocean State Job Lot and it didn’t fit well, had to tape it to hold. This one however, was firm, fastened well and you could tell the quality difference. Fit and worked as expected.
