if yu're the DIY type, buy this after checking your fridge's serial number and look up the how to video in youtube to save at least $300 from a handy man

We got ice!
Worked perfectly in my Kenmore refrigerator MODEL No.: 795.51086.010. It doesn’t have the option button to change the size of the cubes as the OEM did, but that’s okay- we got ice! Easy to install and started making ice within 1hour, but 24 hrs to fill the bin.

Easy To Fix
But be prepared to replace once a year. This is my third time replacing the ice maker. Like others have mentioned, the ice builds up around the feeler arm and it stops making ice. Not sure where the water is coming from. Good thing amazon has this on prime shipping so it can be replaced quickly. Basically 2 screws to remove the unit. One screw to remove the grounding cable. power fridge back on.

It worked for 918 model
It is working as a replacement to the expensive 36756918 model. that is worth the cost and is recommended. It is slow making, dont know why... I am going to replace the end cap with the end cap from my 918, so that the pin hole is converted to a real button. Miss changing cube size easily.TIP: installation.. 1. put the plug in, look over the top down to see what you are doing.. and position the ground wire 2. put the mounting screws in 75% of the way, to hold unit for you 3. screw the ground wire in 4. tighten up the mounting screws.. 5. wait a few hours

Easy install for anyone with an ability to use a screwdriver.
Amazingly easy to install, except that the green ground wire to the old unit had corroded so much that I could not screw it off. I had to cut it and attach a new contact. But that is not the fault of the new ice maker. Other than that, replacing the old ice maker was a piece of cake. It was held on by two easily accessible screws. I am thankful for the people who designed this refrigerator. They must know that the ice maker is the part that breaks the most and they made it easy to replace. Buying this saved me a couple hundred dollars to have someone else install it. The fridge is making ice again and I feel like a working class hero for being able to fix it myself.

Buy the extended warranty, they only last about a year.
Worked great for 12 months, then intermittently for a month, now no ice.
