Is the 2500 big enough for an 1800 sf house? there are 3 levels so we can move it around over the course of a week.. (House is vacant).

Hello, the answer is yes. If you are willing to move it from room to room to use it or use the HVAC system of the house to circulate the O-Zone, it is more than sufficient to do that size space. You can put it near the furnace or next to the closest return vent to the furnace and it will distribute the O-Zone around the house by turning the fan on circulate. Hope this helps,

Can this be used in a stairway where people are coming and going? It's a common area in a condo complex, and we had some problems with mold.

You should only use it when no one is around. For an enclosed space, allow 12 hours after use before occupying the space. Ozone is generated. Not good for humans, but it will kill mold.

Can the unit be run with only one/two or three Ozone plates installed?

Yes the more plates the more ozone production though.
