This pregnant woman is very thankful for these. I have a hard time every now and then getting as much water and hydration as I need, and I can tell when I take these that they are helpful. I already buy the Redmond Re-lyte flavored powders (and love them), but I needed something fast and easy to take (without worrying about mixing with water) for an upcoming cruise. We were to be going on some hot and sweaty excursions. I also recently took them on a hiking trip as they're easy to pack. For me, they're about convenience. I have to take electrolytes every day, especially when its hot, or I get severe leg cramps. If I'm in a hurry, I can just grab two of these to take in the car.

I work outside. I also live in a desert. I also have to wear FR clothing as per my job. So the heat index is never in my favor. I have to drink a lot of water throughout the day to stay hydrated. The problem is that drinking a lot of water without replenishing salts and electrolytes causes the body to go out of whack. I always seem to get a headache around 2pm if I haven’t had something like a bottle of Gatorade or some other drink to help replenish lost electrolytes. The problem is sports drinks literally taste like melted popsicles and are loaded with sugar. Given my family’s history of diabetes, I try to avoid sugary drinks if I can. So I tried these (basically salt pills) energy capsules for a week. It was over 95 degrees each day, with some days getting over 100 degrees. I gotta say, I had no headaches each day, and felt fine drinking just water. I took two capsules about an hour after lunch, just before the time that my headaches start. No headaches. No lightheaded feeling, and zero fatigue. And I’m not talking fatigue like I come home and tell my wife I had a long, hard day at work. That’s every day in my line of work. No, I’m talking about that feeling of sheer exhaustion, where I could literally fall asleep standing up. None of that. These capsules are good stuff. No flavor to them. Just take 1-2 doses per day as needed and keep drinking high quality H2O. And get away from the flavored sugar water in the gas station.
