how long is this motor supposed to last this is the second one i have had and they dont seem to last 6 to 8 months and then freeze up please

First, we have to verify if it is the motor or the impeller that is the problem. The impeller has to be lubricated to work or it will freeze up. The pump motor has a longer life that eight months. Check or water leaks that can damage the motor, means seals have gone bad. Check connections and voltage, correct wire gauge used?, low voltage can cause the motor to burn up.

Second motor/impeller does same thing, takes several times actuating switch before it flushes. How do you lubricate impeller?

There are lubricants that can be added to the intake side of the pump.?? What works best is: take the pump apart to lubricate the impeller (make sure to use a good impeller lubricant) will last longer, depending how offend the unit is used is how offend to take the pump apart to lubricate the pump.
