I've not had any issues with Samsung SD mini cards for years now. And I can't say I expect any here. It is a fast reliable card, works well with my cameras, useful right out of the card with my computer, and plays nice with both my Fire tablets, smartphone, and laptop. But now let's get down to some business. I'll let someone with the proper equipment do the minute tracking details. From the objective standpoint, the card (in the camera) doesn't appear "that" much faster than my older Samsung 60GB SD minis'. maybe a fraction of a second. But this is a more of a limitation on my camera's ability to transmit data not the card. With an upgrade in the near future, I expect the new cards larger size and ability to quickly record data to play a bigger factor. As for downloading, again couldn't be easier. Here the read speed did come into play, as the same amount of data was transferred noticeably faster. So why did I buy this? I really wanted the USB reader. I've read elsewhere that the current USB readers are notably faster for data transfer than the "card sleeve" adaptors. While my computer and laptop have both options (USB3 / SD card slots), I wanted to see if there was any noticeable difference between the two. Surprisingly - yes. I used both the new card and one of my older Samsung 64GB cards for the test. With the older card, the adaptor uploaded 59GB in about 65 minutes vs the same data took 35 minutes. New 256GB card (same data) - adaptor 60 minutes vs USB 27 minutes. Then the fun test downloading (same destination drive for the target): 64GB card: 45 minutes vs USB28, and the 256GB card: adaptor 49 minutes vs USB 27 minutes. Hardly scientific, but pretty clear results. The USB adapter DID make a difference both in writing and reading the data on both cards. Can't say I'll always be using it, but for the price of a new card, it was worth adding to my computer equipment.

Great speeds good price for what you are getting store files with no issue at all it has a good capacity

My phone was about to max out the storage capacity on my existing memory card. I love having access to all my music and photos, but they do take up space. This was the perfect solution. With the 256GB storage, I am ready to go for a few more years at least! What I really love about this memory card is that it came with the USB adapter. That makes it so incredibly easy to transfer files and back them up on my computer. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade storage on their mobile or other device. It works perfectly, and was so easy to use.

The card works well and does what I need it to. Capacity is as advertised, I'm not sure about top read/write speeds, I don't need speeds that fast, so even though I have heard only the higher capacity cards actually reach those speeds, this one is fast enough for me. The card reader on the other hand is quite slow so I opt for using an adapter for my laptops built in card reader (which is also slow, just not as slow) instead. Since I end up transferring lots of larger files and pictures/videos to my laptop at the same time having a reasonably quick card reader would have been helpful. Update: I have seen a lot of reviews stating that the reader is fast as they were able to get the advertised speeds using it. It has not worked well for me but that may be more my laptops fault, although I am using USB 3.1 ports, not all USB 3.1 ports are created equall... so it's probable that the reader works fine and it's just my laptop that's the problem. On the other hand I have had more time to use the card and it (along with all my other cards) is part of a rotation that can end up in my phone, tablet, or camera. It works well and is easily fast enough for any of my purposes in any of those devices. I was able to run apps off of it as well, as long as speed wasn't that important (no games.) I have not tried recording 8k video to it (although it should be able to handle it easily) but it works great for 4k and high resolution RAW photography.

Thanks One True God! This SD Card is Fast, Fast, Fast! Look on my test picture detail, the write speed is realy up to 120mbps and this is amazing! Soo the details on box are true! i buy it in 23.5$ in deal, and it realy worth even 30$ for what you get inside - the adapter! it only worth 5$+, this is USB 3.0 adapter, and it work realy fast! i use it to my speed test i add. i realy thanks to one true god for this SD Card, i take 3 pcs :) The other Samsung SD Cards, The "EVO" and "SELECT" models don't work so fast, i have "EVO" and it came to 60mbps of write. and select is the same like evo, it just abrand name for amazon. So for Cameras or Android or... that need to Write all time to SD Card this is the best choise! It bether you get less space but more speed and realible SD Card. So don't think from now, BUY!

I had been using Lexar Media 64GB MicroSD which I had got about to 10 years out of 😱, using it over the life of about 4 mobile phones. Unheard of.... I know! Typically, I keep media (audio mainly / video) on the external in the event that I wish to listen or watch media when a WiFi signal is either unsecured, extremely weak, or non existent - or - there is just no cellular signal available in the area. Well, about three months ago 'the little chip that could'... could no longer get it done. It drew its final data block, gave one last flash before expiring. Services were held that evening and the week that followed. There wasn't a dry eye in the packed house. Moving on... This time around, I wanted a MicroSD with a wealth of storage space, a fast read / write speed (no need for an mega ultra fast chip, as I'm not primarily recording in 4K or 8K, and a chip that will last me another 10+ years 😉 I was initially looking for a 125gb MSD, but after a couple of days researching and a breakdown between the Samsung 512MSD and two other MSDs, I chose the Samsung 512MicroSD. The price point of this MSD was just another added bonus. With Amazon Prime I received my 512gb MSD by the end of the following day. Amazing!!! 😮 Now that I have has this chip for exactly one month now -- I know now that it was well worth the purchase. The read / write speeds are inline with what is advertised. No lag or degradation while experiencing the media. 🧐 Good job Samsung... I'm very happy with this purchase!! 👍

I bought it for my Galaxy S20 burst shots as I have been told that a high speed memory card is required for the shots to be saved to SD card. But unfortunately, even after using this, the phone saves it to the internal memory and I was told that Samsung made it like that. So my purpose was not served but the SD card and reader is quite good

This review is for Samsung Pro Plus 512GB version. Samsung usually does as promised. Before I was using SanDisk all along. However SanDisk all time mislead customers about promised read/write speed. Crystal Disk Mark results are very close to 160MB for read and 120MB for write. This is how Samsung promise on box. I did the test with Samsung's own USB reader. But, shall keep in mind, actual data transfer time/speed will change according to number and size of files you are copying/transferring. However, even if it does the job with 70MB write speed, I believe this is best available MicroSD. One negative about product ; USB Reader does not have a hole for lanyard connection. And taking MicroSD card out of USB reader is not that easy. I hope Samsung Design Engineers read this comment and they try to take out card themself and see the problem :)) Earlier, I used same style of Lexar Micro SD with Lexar USB reader. There was no such problem. But Lexar's card I bought was 2 years ago and Lexar USB reader now not reading all MicroSD cards. It might be due to changing technology on MicroSD (maybe). One more thing for Samsung (maker) to read; As SanDisk produced long ago 1TB MicroSD, I hope Samsung can make 1TB soon as well . I don't use SanDisk at all as their speed promise are all non true on their products. I hope it is durable as well and can be used for long. In anyway, I strongly recommend this Samsung MicroSd as I believe it is best in market.
