Description

This easy to use le Tapping kit uses durable PVC sap sack holders along with tough polycarbonate tree taps (spiles). Included is a 5/16" drill bit and our "Quick Start Guide to le Tapping and Making" booklet. This type of sack holder is completely enclosed except for the keyhole that slips over the tap. This kit uses the double cable tie (bag tie) method for a cleaner appearance, and to reduce the chance a bag could slip off the holder. Bags measure 12.5" x 24" x 5 mils thick and hold 3 gallons of sap. Remove cap and contents can be poured into a holding container. Parts ship unassembled..

Each kit contains parts for 3 assemblies. Parts included for each assembly: 3 each-EZ Sap Sack Holders. These are CNC machined from sch. 40 solid wall PVC water pipe. 3 each- Blue vinyl cap for the Sack Holders. These keep out debris and precipitation. 3 each- Heavy weight blue 12.5" x 24" x 5 mil Sap Sacks. These will hold 3 gallons of sap. 3 each- D&G 5/16" black nylon taps. Nylon is an exceptionally strong plastic that retains it strength in low temperatures and deforms without breaking. Your choice of black or blue color. Blue is easier to see against dark bark. These taps can be boiled or steam sterilized at temperature up to 260 F. Use only tap or distilled water for sterilization. 6 each- Cable Ties(Bag Clamps) We supply 120 lb industrial strength ties produced from 100% virgin nylon resin. Cheaper ties that contain reground resin can become brittle and snap in cold dry weather. Included is a 5/16" Drill Bit and our Quick Start Guide to le Tapping Booklet Please note the kit does NOT include other tools. You will need a cordless drill to install the taps into your trees, and cutters to trim the cable ties.
