Sorry, I have never used a Braun Series 5. I would not be willing to make a comparison judgement with other shavers based solely on photographs and descriptions by advertisers. The facial hair characteristics of the user and the user’s ability to make the best use of a particular razor’s features could also be crucial factors when considering the effectiveness of any electric razor.

What is the difference between this and the model 9464, except this is £20 cheaper?

Braun razor 9464. I cannot find that model number on the Internet. My previous two were both Series 7 with the auto cleaning system. Very satisfied with them both but for a long lasting smooth finish a wet safety razor was needed - e.g., Hydro 5. Suggest you contact Braun Customer Services or a shop which sells Braun razors, they may have details or a Wholesale Only contact number.

Is there a charging stand. I cannot see one on the offer. So how is the unit charged?

Yes. The Smart Care Centre as it’s described is in fact also the charging stand. The shaver is merely placed foil side down and it will automatically charge (a light on the stand as well as the razor indicates charging). That Care Centre when the button is pressed will also clean the shaver head that liquid also acting as a suitable lubricant. Recommended.
