How thick are these laces?

Very, very thin - maybe pencil lead thick at most. But they are like spider man web strong. You will not rip or break these, you would have to cut them to damage them. Pretty much the same that is on stock Salomon shoes with quick laces factory installed.

what other laces fit salomon running shoes? hate skinny thin laces they sell with shoes

absolutely none! i tried everything including braided fishing wire to no avail. the eyelit openings are too small for annoying else.

How did you get them through the extremely thin Speedcross eyelets?

There is a youtube video showing how to do it. It involves melting the ends and using a paper clip to push the tip through the eyelets. It's not difficult, but it works.
