Great practice book
My grand daughter loves challenging herself when I’m working on office work. I can let her choose so many pages to illustrate her learning. She is engaged and excited to learn.

Great for logic skills! BUT the book came cut up!!
Great book! Gives you something to aim for when it comes to developing your child's logic and problem solving skills. No matter what you learn in life, those two are the most important skills and knowledge you can teach your kid. Even if they are not getting advanced scores, the problems can be used outside of the age range recommended. Make your kids exercise their brains! This book shouldn't have shipped like this. There is a cut through the cover and into a few pages. I kept it though because I didn't want to go through the whole process and wait more.

Good resource for Cogat
Good resource to practice and review cogat topics

Colorful and Challenging
Book is colorful, made of good quality paper. Everything (directions for the different question types with examples) is explained very well. Questions are pretty challenging at times, which is good. The book comes with 2 practice and one test. The few things I would like to see changed- Have a scantron or something at the end of the book so, kids don’t have to mark on the bubbles on the actual question, and maybe have an additional test. Little pricey but was still worth it. I used it for helping my kid’s prep for their CoGAT (the exam format) and more for road trips to keep them busy outside of puzzles and coloring.

She Got In!!!
I purchased this to prep my daughter in 1st grade for the COGAT. We started working on a few problems per day in October and she was tested in January. I would have her talk out her thought process after each selection and give her immediate feedback on whether her choice was right or wrong. She scored between 93-99 on all of sections of the test. Her now gifted instructor was very impressed with her performance and this workbook was all we used.

Great quality test prep-booklets.
Great practice booklet. My daughter took the test for GT placement in Kindergarten and didn't pass despite reading at a 3rd grade level and mastering mathematics to a 2nd grade level. I didn't think I needed to prepare her for the test because she is very smart. I ordered this so we could practice because the sooner she gets into the GT program the sooner she is given access to the best teachers and services her school can offer. After working through the first practice test with her I was able to teach her different test taking strategies as well as noticing her need for increased testing endurance. While I'm not a huge fan of "testing," these books are a great quality and have value in terms of being able to help intelligent kids learn how to test well.

My son and I love this book. Helps prepare him for his GATE test. This was kind of exactly what the real test was about

Some of the questions are not picked well and no words problems
The print quality of the books is good, and 75% of the content of the book is good. But there's two problems. 1. Some questions are not picked well. For example. There's a "pick a different one" question with water melon, lemon, apple and pear, the answer is water melon, and the reason is "all of other three are growing on the tree". I think the answer can be lemon too because all of other three are sweet, only lemon is sour. I think in real test, there should not be questions like this which has multiple possible answers. 2. There's no word questions. I'm not sure if it's for grade 1, so there's no really word problems, but there's such content in the introduction, if this work book doesn't include those in practice, they should mark this in the book.

Appealing and well presented.
I love the visuals in this book, very appealing and colourful. The whole book is well organised, clearly explained and well presented. The added bonus is the idea of getting children interested enough to want to be a member of the Gifted Detective Agency, just brilliant. The children don't just work hard at these questions, they have fun too which I believe is very important. I remember doing these types of tests when I was a child, but they were never as interesting as this. I think they are an excellent way of helping any child develop their skill and I would recommend them to all parents.
