Nominated as one of America’s best-loved novels by PBS’s The Great American Read Part of Penguin's beautiful hardback Clothbound Classics series, designed by the award-winning Coralie Bickford-Smith, these delectable and collectible editions are bound in high-quality colourful, tactile cloth with foil stamped into the design. Shipwrecked and cast adrift, Lemuel Gulliver wakes to find himself on Lilliput, an island inhabited by little people, whose height makes their quarrels over fashion and fame seem ridiculous. His subsequent encounters - with the crude giants of Brobdingnag, the philosophical Houyhnhnms and brutish Yahoos - give Gulliver new, bitter insights into human behaviour. Swift's savage satire views mankind in a distorted hall of mirrors as a diminished, magnified and finally bestial species, presenting us with an uncompromising reflection of ourselves. Review: Amazing Bickford-Smith design - A classic with a wonderfully designed exterior Review: BINDINGS to DIE FOR.. - Some books are bought for reading--but some are bought because the bindings are beautiful and indicate the lost art of a fine binding--these cloth bound editions by penguin classics do this--want a book investment but don't have a few thousand to spend on 1 or 2 modern firsts? Think on buying traditional classics with fine bindings--why not contemporary bindings like these by Coralie Bickford-Smith? They are beautiful and a delight to hold and look at--oh yes--the story is wonderful too. LOL

Great edition...with one exception
Great story, beautiful edition and design! Not my first book from.this series, so I can share the big minus - with time, the cover fades and all.print is coming off! I hope they will fix this for future titles and come up with better quality materials as their covers.

They look great and add that little bit of color and style ...
I purchased these books more as decoration for a shelf I have in my family room. They look great and add that little bit of color and style I was looking for. They're not big books though if thats what you're looking for, but great to look at! Feel sturdy as well.

Riktigt fin
Riktigt fin, lite synd bara att ”färgen” lossna lite när man tog bort klisterlappen, men inget man tänker på
