The NIST cert. is included in the price . Liquid in glass thermometers only need to be calibrated once; if cert. is supplied at time of purchase, you're good.

Does this thermometer have a protective case for shipping safety?

I bought two of these: H-B Instrument 3/1225 Durac Plus NIST Traceable Total Immersion General Purpose Thermometer, with Blue Spirit Liquid and White Back Glass, -10 to 225°. They were very well wrapped in a protective case for shipping. I kept the case because it continues to protect the thermometer when I am not using it. Superior product, superior shipping. What is the diameter of this thermometer?

Have no clue, They were a gift for someone. They looked like a regular thermometer, guess 1/4" - 3/8"

Is the scale in degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius? Description is not clear - range is given in Fahrenheit, but precision in Celsius. Photo shows Celsius.

There are various models with different temp. modes & ranges. The stock picture is a Celsius model. The specific product description has what mode it is. Mine met with an accident a while back. The H-B 3/1230 is a F° model.
