Outstanding value and rock-solid performance
I picked up the AMD Ryzen 5 5500 for a budget-friendly build, and it has exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for maximum performance per dollar, this 6-core, 12-thread chip is tough to beat. Performance & High Loads This CPU performs great at high loads. Whether I'm running multi-threaded workloads, rendering video, or handling heavy multitasking with dozens of browser tabs and background apps open, it doesn't stutter. For gaming, it handles modern AAA 1080p titles at high settings with ease when paired with a decent dedicated graphics card (I use a rx 6600xt). Cooling & Setup The included Wraith Stealth Cooler is a massive plus. It keeps temperatures perfectly stable under normal use, though if you plan to push heavy loads for hours at a time, spending a few extra bucks on a basic tower cooler keeps it even quieter. Installation was straightforward and seamless. Pros: Excellent 6-core / 12-thread performance for the price Handles heavy multitasking and high loads smoothly Includes a decent stock cooler in the box Unlocked for light overclocking Low power consumption Cons: PCIe 3.0 only (no PCIe 4.0 support, though negligible for most budget builds) Verdict: If you're building a budget to mid-range PC or upgrading an older AM4 system, buy this. It delivers incredible performance without breaking the bank!

Excellent Budget CPU for Gaming and Everyday Use
I upgraded to the Ryzen 5 5500 from an older processor, and the performance improvement was immediately noticeable. The 6 cores and 12 threads handle gaming, multitasking, and everyday applications very well. Games run smoothly, and I can have multiple programs open at the same time without any slowdowns. Installation was straightforward, and the included Wraith Stealth cooler was easy to mount. Temperatures have stayed reasonable during gaming and normal use, and the system has remained completely stable. For the price, this CPU offers excellent value. It also provides room for overclocking for users who want additional performance, although it performs great at stock settings. It's an ideal upgrade for anyone building a budget or mid-range AM4 system. After several months of use, I've experienced no crashes or stability issues. Overall, the Ryzen 5 5500 is a reliable, affordable processor that delivers excellent performance for gaming, schoolwork, and general PC use.

A Powerful CPU for Gaming & Productivity!
I recently built my first custom PC with the AMD Ryzen 5 5500, and I couldn't be happier with my decision! This processor offers an excellent balance of performance for the price, It provides performance comparable to more expensive models without breaking the bank. Whether you're gaming, streaming, or working on intensive tasks, this CPU holds its ground brilliantly if you’re on a budget. I've tested it with various games, and it performs exceptionally well, especially at 1080p resolution. The 6 cores and 12 threads allow for efficient background processing without any noticeable lag. Despite heavy use, I’ve found that the CPU stays cool even under load. I paired it with the Wraith Prism, and I rarely see temperatures rising above 70°C, which is impressive. The installation process was straightforward, and it worked seamlessly with my existing B550 motherboard. I appreciate that AMD continues to support their CPUs with BIOS updates, ensuring compatibility with future technologies. Overall, I highly recommend the AMD Ryzen 5 5500 to anyone looking for a powerful, efficient, and budget-friendly CPU. It's a solid investment for both current & future needs.

It does it's job.
For me CPUs like this, which are budget CPUs are mostly about the price. For $100 USD or less this is an excellent buy. If it's more than that, uhhhh. I'll take the 5600 for $130 Bob. While this is a Zen 3 CPU, it's not PCIe gen4 and you should be aware of this before buying. It's not the same line of CPU that most Zen 3 CPUs which are Vermeer. This is Cezanne. There are 3 Cezanne CPUs, the other two are OEM only, meaning they only come in a PC you buy from a company that makes PCs like Dell, etc........ For the most part this isn't a problem because it's a budget CPU, however if you pair this with something like an AMD Radeon 6500 XT which only uses 4 PCIe lanes to connect to the CPU, you'll get bad performance. So don't do that. Otherwise as long as you pair this with at least an 8 PCIe lane GPU it works fine. You take a tiny hit in GPU performance but not enough to worry about. The bigger hit comes with the NVMe drives, especially in 2023 and going forward. There are now MANY NVMe disks that are a lot faster than 4GB/s, and to give as simple explanation as I can, a PCIe lane is a serial data line. The way a PCIe device/bus works is by grouping a certain amount of lanes so that you get the speed of a single PCIe lane times the number of lanes you have. Any NVMe disk has 4 lanes. It also means the port you plug it into along with what it connects to (CPU, motherboard chipset) has 4 PCIe lanes that it will connect with. So, you get 4 PCIe lanes. So now you need to know the data speed for each lane. For PCIe gen3, the speed of each lane is 1GB/s. For PCIe gen4 the speed of each lane is 2GB/s. So, with this CPU, the best you can get is a data transfer rate of 4GB/s to an NVMe disk. That's it. The newest disks coming out the end of 2022, and 2023 can hit speeds near 9GB/s. Now, most data transfers to/from NVMe disks can't run at that speed. However many disks can run many data transfers faster than 4GB/s, so that means a CPU that runs PCIe gen3 is slowing down modern NVMe disks that can run gen4 or now gen5 speeds. But that's not a statement that has a clear meaning, because just because a disk is called gen4, it doesn't mean most of the data transfers to/from that disk will run at the full bandwidth of PCIe gen4 x4 lanes = 8GB/s. Most gen4 disks rarely hit that speed if ever. Only the most expensive ones do. BUT once again many will run different types of transfers above 4GB/s. So that's the description of what it means to have PCIe gen3 when dealing with modern NVMe disks. You're going to slow down some of the data transfers, not all, depending on how fast (which also means more expensive) the disk is. Yes for a general purpose PC build this is good enough and it's a low cost option that's really good at $100 USD or less. However if the price of this starts to get closer to the Ryzen 5600, I'd rather buy the 5600 because that's PCIe gen4 which is as good as it gets with an AMD AM4 motherboard.

Best value to performance Ryzen AM4 processor (aug '26)
Unbeatable performance/price ratio. I have bought two of these. The value is amazing. I paired both of them with a 4060 8gb gpu and either 16 or 32gb of system memory. They really perform well while being quiet and cool. I have had the following Ryzen processors besides the 5500: 2700x, 3600x, 3700x, 3950x, 5800x, 9800x3d. This Ryzen 5 5500 beats them all in out-of-the-package-new value. Without a doubt. Yeah, it's not the most powerful processor. But with a 4060 or some such, you don't really need more than that.

The best price / performance on the market right now
Great little CPU for my needs. No, it’s not the world’s best gaming or workstation CPU, not by a long shot. But it’s also FAR from the most basic as well. The 6 cores and high clock speeds gives you plenty of firepower for every task that a “typical home computer” will ever need to do. Would I use it as a dedicated 3D modeling or video editing CPU? No, not professionally. But for light, intermittent use, yeah it’ll definitely get you through a few projects here and there, but if I were looking for a professional unit for daily use I would consider an upgrade. As far as gaming, it still holds its own fairly well. Games today are becoming more and more multi-thread dependent, so this little fella will run very close to maxed out in some newer titles. At higher resolutions, the GPU will still almost always be your bottleneck, but I’ve had a few fans this CPU has ran upwards of 80% utilization on, which somewhat blew my mind, as I typically only see 63-67% utilization with my other computers R5 5600x, even in the most CPU-intensive titles. With all that being said, I would still 100% recommend this CPU for anyone building a budget system. Despite AM4’s age, the platforms lifespan has unwittingly grown thanks to stuff like the memory price hikes, and the great pricing of AM4 units. While the r5 5500 isn’t the top-performer even in the AM4 generation in any metric, there’s no denying it’s still a rock-solid processor that will crush every task you throw at it on a consumer level, and honestly wouldn’t really require an upgrade again until AM6, in most cases. And for the $75 it was at the time I purchased it, it’s almost the best CPU deal on the market at this time. Sure, it’s only about 75% as “good” as the r5 5600…..but it’s also about 1/3 the price. So while not being the king of performance, it is almost undoubtedly the kind of value. Installation of this unit into my b550 motherboard was effortless and required zero brain power. My Assassin 120mm cooling tower bolted on just fine (duh) and temps look great, all cores and frequencies appear stable, and this processor is purring like a kitten. Would highly recommend for everything looking for a CONSUMER grade processor, aside from the maybe the most dedicated gamers or folks who do a lot of cpu-dependent video editing in their spare time. But for casual-moderate gaming, light intermittent modeling or editing use, and all other typical daily computer uses, the r5 5500 is MORE than enough for most people

Streaming computer has never been better!
I do a weekly show on YouTube, Twitch and Kick that I multi stream locally using Prism Live Studio. For a very long time I had been using an old i7-7700k with a GTX 1080 and 32 GB of ram. However, as the show evolved and started to use more and more effects and full motion backgrounds it struggled to do 1080p 30 FPS streaming. I started having encoding fails during the show and stuttering due to drop frames and encoding overload. I started wondering if it was my graphics card, but everyone on forums for streaming all said a GTX 1080 was more than enough for dedicated streaming. When I had a recent failure I looked at the CPU usage and it was pegged at 100%. I then accepted that fact that I had to upgrade the CPU which meant I also needed to upgrade the motherboard and memory. The last thing I wanted to do was spend a ton a money for this machine and started researching my options. In the last couple of years I made the switch from team blue to team red for my gaming and audio recording / video machines and had been extremely happy. (I have two gaming towers and a 3u rack mounted recording studio machine that I have all built custom.) I knew that the AM4 platform was cheaper these days due to the AM5 out now so I looked at Passmark CPU benchmarks to see what was out there. To my surprise, the best value/performance CPU listed in the #2 spot was the Ryzen 5 5500 for $83 on Amazon. After looking at all the specs and benchmarks, I thought this was a significant upgrade from the 7700k but at a really low price. So I figured what the heck and gave it a shot. I should also mention that I bought a MSI B550-A Pro and 64 GB of Corsair 3200 DDR4 memory. (Memory was overkill but it was cheap.) I am so extremely happy with my decision. Not only am I streaming now at 1080p 60FPS at 6000 kbps, but my CPU usage averages around 12% - 15% with occasional spikes to 20%. This thing is a work horse. I was also able to under volt and overclock the CPU to 5.65 GHZ with temps no higher than 64C at full load using a Cooler Master - Hyper 212 Halo. I'm just so blown away by what a value you get with the power this setup has. If you need a cost effective machine for tasks like this, then look no further. You won't be disappointed. I look forward to many years of streaming with this setup. That is until 4k become standard for live streaming. ; ). But we'll cross that bridge when we get there.

Nice for the price
Build a nice computer for less then a 1000$ ca that still kicks aside my old computer that I build 12 years ago at the price of 2500$ Take note, the price mention above for the new computer is with AMAZON specials at the moment of purchase. (November 2024) Now, like I was saying for much less then a 1000$ using those components Motherboard ASUS Prime B550 plus. Power supply Thermaltake Smart BX1 750W Bronze SLI/Crossfire Ready. RAM Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 X 16) at 3200mhz CORSAIR 3000D Airflow Mid-Tower PC Case – 2X SP120 Elite Fans – Four-Slot GPU Support. Processor AMD Ryzen 5 5500 6-Core, 12-Thread Unlocked FAN included. May have to chip around 50$ for a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card if you don’t have it already. Kingston 480 gb SSD. Graphic card GeForce GTX 1650 4gb Licence for Win 11 PRO, shop and find at different price, you only need a Digital license to make this machine work fine. Mine costed 125$ ca. This kit support without any problem Win 11 24H2 latest release almost a plug and play. (Installed it on the 22 Nov 2024 and never seen that before not one issue.) I'm not a hardcore gamer but I love my dead island, day light, etc... level of games and yes that system will support those and maybe more demanding games (Do your DD to find out, like I said I'm a mild gamer) no problem even projected on a 10 feet X 5 feet wall. So, my goal was to try at best not to invest my saving and have a nice machine that is functional for what I need, and not to flex (Look at me I got a machine that goes around Jupiter and back but it costed me 5000$) LOL You could also overclock that system with a little bit of knowledge, and the bios readiness unlock the RAM which is set to nominal 2133 or so to full values (Mine are 3200 MHz) at a click away, Rams have a build in profile to facilitate its full profile. And do not forget that you have room for expending for a bigger graphic card, RAM and a bit more room for the processor then what I used. So this was my quest on AMAZON to get something more recent then the Asus P8Z77- deluxe (2012) which is still fine but does not support win 11 due to TPM and for the hardcore gamers Steam do not support any longer the win 7, 8, 8.1 and it is just a question of time before win 10 will no longer be supported by Steam. Yes, I forgot, I can install win 11 on the Asus P8Z77 deluxe (2012) with the removal of the TPM notification but at the long run it keeps bugging more often then I care for, so, for all my software that I have for editing video, creating music etc..... Win 7 on this Asus P8Z77 deluxe works fine, and I know that win 10 will support my old system, so I will experiment more on the subject. In conclusion I got something that kick for less then 1000$ ca and I build it my self from A to Z without any problem (Plug and play I would say) and will last some years without having to cash out money left and right. Keep searching there are nice specials on AMAZON. hope this help a bit Den.

Great cpu. Comes with stock cooler.
Completed the build with this CPU. Product is as described by the seller, genuine. Seller contacted me before shipping to verify the build for any compatibility issues (which is great) Comes with stock Wraith cooler. So you don't need to buy separate cooler + thermal paste. This series of processor doesn't have an iGPU. So you will need a dedicated gpu for display. (Efficient and clean for desktop builds and gaming setups) I am using primarily as a host for my RX 7900 xt gpu for Llm Inference and some AI workloads. Would recommend

Calidad precio 1080p Graficos Altos RX 7600
